I would like to see Transatalntic perform the whole Whirlwind in SNL. It would be the best show in a long time.

I was listening to RPWL Beyond Man and Time today and thought that "The Shadow" might work.  A bit long (just over 6 minutes), but kind of danceable and relatively straight-forward.

So who's going to contact SNL and get this set up?

I saw Portishead on there once. I also think PT would be good.

I've been spinning this notion around in mental Cuisinart and I'm going to have to go with Porcupine Tree.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Put Echolyn on there for international exposure. Why Coldplay is huge and Echolyn isn't is disturbing to me.

Now remember, this isn't really what bands you'd like to see on SNL.  But rather, what bands would have a realistic chance of appearing on SNL (and not getting booed off the stage!).

Though not stereotypically Prog per se, I'll say Chrome Hoof.
Just a fanboy passin' through.

That's some interesting stuff and I think it'd be a nice change of pace.

Actually, Zappa played on SNL twice. Once where he was there as the guest musician/ band. The other time he hosted, and that was a great episode! He played "Dancing Fool" and did some funny skits, including one with the Coneheads.
