How are you liking this album now, Darkshade? It's definitely one that has only gotten better with each listen.

As I've said in the TFK thread, I enjoy this album just like any of their other ones, but I sense this one is actually starting to click on this very session, finally haha. It may be moving up a few notches on my list of favorite TFK albums. We'll see...

What are your favorite songs from Retropolis?

As of right now, the title track, There Is More To This World, The Melting Pot, and Silent Sorrow; but it's all good.

This is an AOR album, but of interest to PA members, it involves Tony Levin and Pat Mastellotto.  Also. former Toto members David Hungate (bass) and Fergie Frederiksen on vocals.

Acquiring the taste for this album:

"Composing itself, in a way, is a simplifying process, just trying to pick some (strands?) out [of] the clamour in the head." - Robert Wyatt.

There are very tight connections between AOR and prog. Lots of respect to Fergie, who despite his cancer, still lends his voice to various projects. I am listening to "did it for love" on youtube, very strong song.

I mentioned in that AOR thread that I finally got around to start reading the issue of Classic Rock AOR from last October that I picked up back then.  They had an article about this band in there.  I had not heard of them previously.  I found the album on Spotify and gave it a listen.  Good stuff! Thumbs Up

So far, I've actually like this 80's and 90's Rush better than all else. Shocked
