I want to know prog songs with love as main theme and lyrics. Please help, it's for my GF, but I don't like pop songs.
Playing a three-hour Rush show is like running a marathon while solving equations.

And You and I - Yes
In the Presence Of - Yes (well, this is actually a psuedo-religious song to some new agey divine force, but it sounds like a love song and makes a lot more sense that way)
Madrigal - Rush
Beneath the Surface - Dream Theater (tragic love song/relationship that never got started.  This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard).
Turn of the Century - Yes
Halo Effect - Rush (you probably don't want to play this for your girlfriend, though)
Marid's Gift of Art - maudlin of the Well (I think this is actually about Toby's daughter or something, but it still has love as it's theme, albeit a different kind of love than you're probably looking for)
Presto - Rush
Alien Shore - Rush
The End is Beautiful - Echolyn (an "end of relationship" song)
Zipporah - Amaseffer

and...

Together as One - Death (joking, joking.  Never play this for your GF unless you want to avoid marrying her at all costs, in which case I don't know why you'd be dating her).
"The hero's journey is the journey from strength to weakness."

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned it yet: Pain of Salvation - This Heart Of Mine
One of the most beautiful love songs

Oh and there's an other one: John Wetton and  Anneke van Giersbergen - To Catch a Thief

I recommend two songs of Genesis:

- You Have Your Own Special Way
- Afterglow
Meet me in Second Life under the name Exiles Lavender. I am a DJ there at two prog rock clubs.

Some of these suggestions may be by prog artists, but are not prog songs. But this always happens in threads.

From the same album, I think "Cliché" would work too.

In the Presence Of by Yes is the best choice because:

1) The lyrical content is actually reflected in the music.
2) It's still prog as hell.

As I was spinning songs through my mind's cuisinart, that's a good one.
