This ignornant comment is what caused me to turn my nose up at Wilson.
Is the "ignorant comment" referred to who?

The ignorant comment was about Wilson not you. My apologies!

Thank you Darkshade and Rogerthat, I really appreciate your good intentions.

English is not my first language but it’s pretty obvious even for me that this mirror image needs at least some ESL classes, if not something else (sorry, my English skills won’t help me to be more subtle). From the original purpose of getting people opinions about who’s right and who’s wrong this “senior member” (I know, I am being sarcastic - no harm is meant to others) transformed this thread into a personal vendetta against SW’s behavior (OK, SW is a sinner, but is mirror image God to judge him?). The thing is this thread initiator is nothing else than an immature fan boy.

Sorry for the heat - actually all I wanted was to enjoy my holyday in a pleasurable way, reading and expressing my opinions about what I love so much: progressive rock.

Hmmm...there's nothing wrong with my English, but rather that I simply made a mistake in the presentation of my thoughts that post. I also apologized to you if you go back the previous page. It WAS NOT my intention to say anything offensive to you. I was referring to Wilson the entire time. I don't know you so why would I personally attack you or anyone else here for that matter? This was all a simple misunderstanding which I account, again, for my lack of clarity in presenting my ideas in a legible way, but I see I failed miserably here and I simply was typing faster than my mind could think! Again, please accept my apologies and, no, I'm not a fanboy but I am somebody who thought Wilson was out of line, but, like anyone, he has the freedom to express himself however he feels. This thread was, more or less, a way to get other's input and to see different sides of the coin. That's all really. Nothing more, nothing less.

I really believe you "nothing more, nothing less" but 'Hmmm..." there is something wrong with your English. There's no need to appologize, actually when I read the interview I had the same reaction as yours - disgust against an arrogant oppinion (SW'a for clarity Smile).

Time Flies would have been a more obvious example for me

This is from his UPCOMING NEW SOLO ALBUM, what makes me wonder of he really changed his mind.

Luminol does sound like retro prog, but meh, I like it . I like SW's work anyway.

sounds interesting to me (I will definetly be getting it anyway). I suspect that his 'attitude' may have softened a bit on the retro prog thing but just in case it hasn't I think we should carry on branding him a raving ego maniac until he makes a grovelling apology to RoineWink

That interview with Wilson was from years ago, though. I think his stance on progressive rock may have softened since then. SW didn't used to like being called 'prog'. I think he's embraced the label now. Certainly, a lot of the material on Grace for Drowning sounded like 70s prog (Crimson, Tull, etc). Luminol definitely has that Yes kind of feel. I am interested, I have the new blu ray on pre-order

So I've been doing a lot of thinking about Steven Wilson and have come to conclusion that regardless of what he said and how much I disagree with it, he is a great musician and songwriter. I plan on giving his music more a chance to grow on me. I ordered Fear Of A Blank Planet tonight after watching this:

I don't like too much the first two songs from the album, but I think Anestethize is one of his best song he ever wrote. Enjoy it.

Yes, Anesthetize is just superb. I love all the moods and emotions it goes through in the span of just 12 minutes.

I wrote this on my personal blog and just wanted to share with you.

It kind related to this thread I think...

Long before? Didn't Mansun release their debut album, Attack of the Grey Lantern, the same year as Radiohead released their third album, OK Computer?
