PERHAPS is a band from Boston. Volume One is their debut album, consisting of a single 38 minute song . Elements of Psych/Space/Post/Math/Noise/Kraut are all present... but i don't really know how to effectively describe the sound using words haha. Volume One makes use of vintage recording methods (all analog reel-to-reel recording) and vintage gear (70's guitars and amplifiers, moog synths, theremin etc.) and also features saxophone, trumpet and a string quartet. I'd really like some reviews and I'd really like to be added to the archives.

Is this Jim's account? If so i also love your artwork for the album. If you release physical CDs September 13th, i'd love to have one.

Plus your album isn't for sale before mid September.

Just a thought, maybe there is a better genre to categorize this under?

OK, the album is just finishing as I type this. Got your PM and checked out the music. I'll get to the music in a second, but this is what I know so far...Perhaps was rejected for RIO/Avant. That team suggested they be better for Post/Math. The Math Team approved them but they are a lacking a photo to use. They have been added to the Post Rock charts on ProgFreak.

Only listened once so far and 1) I like it; 2) the music is very diverse. It would take me more listens to make a better judgement. I think it could fit under Eclectic but if it ends up in Post/Math that's fine. Just don't know if Perhaps should be considered 'post' or 'math' rock as they have both in their sound as well as the Psych/Space/Kraut mentioned in the OP, and some fusion as well.

I'd agree with Math or Eclectic honestly. I don't think it fits in post too well. Anyhoo, great stuff man.

Math/Post are merged so it doesn't matter, as long as they're approved and added--
