Thank you for allowing me to join this forum. Very few people I know enjoy a significant portion os the music I listen to, but I am glad more people obviously do here.

Some of my favorite albums thus far are:

-Close to the Edge
-Relayer
-A Farewell to Kings
-Hemispheres
-Nercery Cryme
-Foxtrot
-The Divine Wings of Tragedy
-The Oddyssey
-Brain Salad Sergery

I also really enjoy plenty of classical music.

If anyone has some recommendations, they would be appriciated.

Hello, welcome to PA!
Based on that list, you're in the right place.  Just poke around the threads and I'm sure by the end of the day you'll have a handful of new things to check out.

You should also probably not start any threads or make comments just yet. You should probably grasp certain communication standards on the forum. E.g., some people here lack a certain sense of humor, like sarcasm. Also, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah ... .

But yes, you should look for some recommendations for yourself, although, I must say, I stopped believing in recommendations simply because most of them don't work for me. Well, you might wanna start with the list of top 100 best prog albums on PA.

Welcome! Just poke around the Top 100 Albums like recommended above, and all of the Genre Lists. If you're still having problems or just want some actual recommendations based on your tastes, make a thread!

FYI: You will not be able to to participate in polls and such until you have more posts. I believe any forum restraints are relieved after you reach a post count of 40. Hope you continue to post here.

Thank you very much. The top 100 list would very likely be interesting. What songs are there that sound a lot like Close to the Edge?

^ Please ... there is nothing like "Close to the Edge" (not to my knowledge, at least). Smile Well, you might consider listening to Tales from Topographic Oceans (just about any track). And, if you have noticed, those classic Yes songs and pieces, they sound like one is a recycled version of another, and I think that "Gates of Delirium" could fit the bill ... although I see that you have already gone through that album.

Tales from Topographic Oceans quotes musical phrases from Close to the Edge and lyrically foreshadows Relayer.

Thank you for the recommendation of Tales from Topographic Oceans. I recently purchased ten used CDs, they were Images and Words, The Grand Illusion, The Best of the Moody Blues, The Best of Spirit, four classical CDs, a Pat Metheny CD, and onw with traditional African music. The Grand Illusion may not have had very lengthy tracks, but the keyboard quality was excellent.
