I want to get the best recordings possible of Pink Floyd's  "Animals"  and "Meddle."   Could you good people recommend recordings of these amazing two albums,  on CD or DVD,  that are low compression and superb?  Thumbs Up

CDs should all be the same compression level.  Are you asking which remaster sounds the best?  Because that would be entirely subjective.

As far as I know, they've only been recorded once in the studio. I assume you mean to say you want the best CD transfer, but I only have one copy so I can't really help you.

Somebody will shoot me down here, but I would think that the best recordings would come from the set of 2011 remasters. I would add that neither of the two albums you name come with any bonus material on the 2011 remasters. And having said that I don't possess any of these Pink Floyd 2011 discs so I can't be sure what I'm saying is correct.

Pink Floyd's music was very well produced so remastering doesn't help the recordings a whole lot. So if I were you I would buy the latest remasters (2011 "Discovery") I own Piper, Meddle, DSotM and Animals and they sound superb.
