I have not heard the latest one, but Vapor Trails is one of my favorite Rush albums.

Snakes and Arrows with Vapor Trails as a distant second.

I was disappointed with Clockwork Angels. It's musically boring besides the singles and the title track. The Garden is good too, but 4 songs can carry an album by so much - especially since it's a concept album.

I find Vapor Trails to be one of the most painful albums to sit through period. The sound quality is notoriously bad and they use the same sludgy instrumentation throughout. Snakes and Arrows had more variety, but at the same time was unfocused, and several of the tracks are simply too long. Clockwork Angels isn't exempt from the "too long" category, but at least there are rewards for patience along the way, and there is a balance between focus and variety (Although the variety isn't all that much)

I didn't like S&A at all, Vapor Trails I only heard twice and not completely and I wasn't excited yet. Clockwork Angels grew on me with each listen since the first time and I really love it, the material is just good!! It's a 4 star album for my taste.

None for me. They aren't bad albums, but they seem to be lacking something.

They lack the light and shade, variety and melody of the older albums imo. Too much emphasis on being grungy and heavy.

As I said, I've yet to hear Clockwork Angels, but this appraisal applies to the others, for me.
