This is the final A-B poll, and there are some wonderful albums here. Part 3 had some fairly obscure albums--these may not be quite as obscure, and if you do some digging I'll bet you find some gems!

Automat is a progressive electronic band, whose only album was released in 1978.

Luciano Basso is a prolific artist, whose later works veered more toward contemporary classical. His first album, Voci from 1976, definitely qualifies as a hidden gem.

Franco Battiato is a well known avant RPI artist, who is represented in this poll by his first album, Fetus, perhaps the best entry point into his daunting discography.

Lucio Battisti is perhaps the most beloved 1970s artist in Italy. He made some progressive-tinged albums in the early 1970s. Most agree that Anima Latina is his best of these albums.

Pierpaolo Bibbo is probably the most obscure artist in this poll, but he deserves to be much better known! His only album, Diapason, is among the best albums of the last half of the 1970s (album recorded in 1979).

Blocco Mentale is one of those essential one shot albums that belongs in every RPI lover's library.

Ditto for Buon Vecchio Charlie, one of the earliest of the RPI albums (1971).

Again, following the links to each band takes you to their PA page. If there weren't samples already there, I've added videos so that you can sample away.

Even if you only know one of these, if you like it, please vote for it.

Grazie!

No doubt about it! You might start with Blocco Mentale and Buon Vecchio Charlie, maybe Basso.

^^^ Jim, there are definitely a lot of great titles in this one. I think I'm leaning toward Blocco Mentale myself, but we'll see.

^^ Thomas, Voci is a great one for sure! How do you like this one compared to the next one, Cogli il Giorno?

Simply because the five early saxophone notes of Poa never stop echoing in my head, I vote Blocco Mentale.

Anima Latina is really something wonderfully unique.

True. But more than Anima Latina, this is Lucio Battisti which is unique. Special prize of the jury for the artist.

I have three of these although i do have music from two of the others just not those particular albums.
Buon Vecchio Charlie is the clear winner for me even though "POA" and "Voci" are great albums too. Nice poll ToddClap

Another great addition to your poll is Franco Leprino. His album Integrati ... Disintegrati is reminiscent of a calm, awesome Tangerine Dream. Like Tangerine Dream, this album only has two parts (Lalo A, Lalo B). I'd vote for it!

Surprised to see Fetus doing so well. Happily though as I genuinely love that album.

I did however vote for Anima Latina. There is just something magical about it. I will listen to it, and my day literally turns out brighter and more interesting. Feel good vibe coupled up with the best producing job ever this side of the equator. Flawless.
