This is a poll based on your numerous suggestions from my recent one(http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=89017).

Quite a lot of Dutch bands here. Voted for Supersister, but I admit I don't know Trace as well as I should do.

Not a  band I care for, but I wonder if you mean Ars Nova (from Japan) rather than Ars Longa.  The only four I know well on this list are Egg, Supersister, Soft Machine, and Elephant9, and I have loved all four of those.  Guess my vote ultimately will go to Soft Machine or Supersister.  I'm going with Soft Machine.

Solution by a small margin ahead of Trace and Rare Bird.

Went with Rare Bird, still should have picked Trace but Sympathy is up there with all my favourite 70s singles so I just can't not pick Rare Bird.

I guess by Soft Machine we mean early Soft Machine.

Toss up between them and Egg.

For me it's between Rare Bird, Supersister and Soft Machine. I'll go with Rare Bird followed very very closely by Soft Machine.

Trace for me. I just can't get into Soft Machine, too jazzy and noodly for me.

I know what you mean, if you're interested you should go for their first two albums which are very psychedelic and not noodly at all.
