What do we think of our good friend Rob? Good times family man or soulless Republican shill? Learned theologian or bigoted fundamentalist? Talented progressive rock musician or evil arch-enemy of He-Man?

  oh god--   as this thing hasn't been closed yet I will say this; until very recently for no apparent reason my relationship with Rob has improved immensely from the chilly and tenuous one it was.   Let's just say I always got the feeling I was far from Rob's favorite person, not that I cared much but I enjoyed the challenge of finding common ground in numerous areas, even politics--  he's in North Carolina, I'm in North California, juuuuust a little different politically.

I had a similar experience with Hugues; we were mortal enemies for years, like mongooses and cobras, now we're fast friends and get along just fine.   It can happen to you it can happen to me it can happen to everyone eventually.

I think he's a nice guy that let's his passions overwhelm him sometimes.

I think he drinks more than he ought to, but he won't stop.

I think he should spend more time with his children instead of here.

I think he loves his wife but has a hard time showing her that.

I think he cooks tasty meals.

I think he loves writing novels but lacks the discipline to finish most of them.

I think he is patient to a fault.

I think he wishes everyone on this website, regardless of their religious, political, sexual, or musical affiliations peace and prosperity. 

I think he ought to go to bed, but he won't.

I'm in favor of letting him stay.

I know we differed, but I am so glad we are cordial.  I think highly of you, even if I disagree with you on things.
