Toto is not a prog band in particular but I think it's musically and instrumentally good enough that most of you will know who they are. I went to their gig in Vienna last Wednesday and it was one of the best concerts I've ever seen.
It's not all of them, only David Page, Simon Phillips, Steve Lukather, Steve Porcaro. There's was a different singer and bass guitar player that was absolutely amazing. I'd really want to know his name but I somehow coudn't find it so I'd be really glad if somebody came up with a name.
Here's the video of Africa (just the ending - instrumental part, imo even better than the song itself)

I love Toto.
A not much known fact is that two members of Toto, Steve Lukather and the late Jeff Porcaro played on Triumvirat's last album Russian Roulette.Thumbs Up
I especially love the Toto debut album.
Would love to see them live, but don't do shows by anybody due to severe tinnitus.

the singer is Joseph Williams (son of movie composer John Williams, Star Wars, Jaws and multiple Spielberg movies, Harry Potter theme song etc). Joseph sang on album Farenheit and the Seventh One, but was sacked due to his drug addiction  at that time  :(

bass player is Nathen East one of the most used session bass players in the ENTIRE WORLD, so solid, solid, solid player,

yeaah Nathen East that's it, he was amazing and the more vidios of him I watched on youtube the more I like his style. During the concert I thought he was like 40 and then I found out he was born in 1955.....wtf? he looked so much younger

Nathen East is one of the few bass players who can proudly put the word innoavtive into his reportoare as he helped develop the slap & pop technique, which was made by Larry Graham, and Nathan is one of the best deciples and channelers of that techque, he and Marcus Miller,

I always loved Africa as a song. I saw them live about 10 years ago at the Birmingham NEC. Good gig although unfortunately my undying memory was of a mass exodus to the toilets during a very boring solo keyboard spot.

I only saw Steve Lukather in Paris at the time of his last album.
I was not that really amazed by the performance but the musicians who accompanied him were great.

It's great that they hired Joseph Williams for the tour, 'Fahrenheit' and 'the seventh one' are two of my favourite TOTO albums.
