thisfocusing only on  Lukather as solo artist, not focusing on the band he plays in nor his session work  but from 89 album and onwards

vs Steven Wilson (PT albums, solo albums) whom is very popular amon these circuts

but Lukather is among the top solid solo artist in the 90s and is a very strong contender for the best Indipendent artist and non-profilistic artist in that decade, who is up there with the Pearl Jam, Radihaed and other 90s/00s bands as most quality prooven artist of the two decades, not a single poor album, all the studio albums is 4/5 or higher, quite underrated solo carear if you ask me, i find he is as solid as Wilson on the artistic apartment as a solo artist and the music is as solid as the both Porcupine Tree eras, the musicianship in all Lukes album is stellar and innovative,.. so if not heard them,   check em out, fans of heavy prog, jazz fusion, and progressive metal and even post/exp metal will love them :=)

Luke : better singer (a warm and pleasant voice) and better guitarist (he played with nearly all major living artists on earth).

"Magma was the very first gothic rock band" (Didier Lockwood)

I am mostly focusing on his solo work, have you any familiarity or relationsjip to his solo artist output, from Lukather to his 2011 release? im not focusing on Toto, nor his sessions, Just solo album, the music on his solo albums, and also slightly on his work with Derek Sherinian, but slight focus on that, vs Steven Wilsons work in PT and solo, (only) not other side projects or bands, Porcupine Tree and Steve Wilson solo vs Steve Lukather the solo artist.

what do you f.eks think of his two latest, very focused albums  "Ever Changing Times" and "All's Well that ends Well"

just curious

Wilson
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Lukather is a much better musician then Wilson and is way more musicaly articulated also, and is quite able to do things musicaly more intriguing to his albums then Wilson can on his PT albums

this is one of the best progressive rock albums of the 00s http://open.spotify.com/track/1ITIlBHhGIFVqfq7fX8fWr

I was so amazed by his last album that I went to see him on stage. And as I said, he is as good as a guitarist as he is as a vocalist (both for lead vocals and backing vocals).

I do not think Steven Wilson is particularly gifted, he has some of the less impressive vocals in prog and rock in general. To say it simply, Steven Wilson is an "impostor".

Apples and oranges surely?

I certainly respect Steve Lukather as a guitarist but merely being a member of Toto destroys any credibility he might have as an artist.

How is he an impostor?
