Soon Over Babaluma. Most say their glam rock/average rock period wasn't that bad, but i had trouble listening to it.

Soon. Landed has its moments but falls flat overall IMO.

Zoviet! I WOULD have voted for `Saw Delight' if it was on the poll options!

I picked the remastered CD for $5 discounted at a local music shop that clearly had no idea what it was. It was the first Can album I ever heard, and it blew me away! It was like a hypnotic spacey Kraut interpretation of world music, and I'd never heard anything like it at the time!

Love how the opening track drifts in and out of space rock, Krauty chugging riffs and reggae over and over!

Then I noticed on the Archives that there doesn't seem to be an overwhelming lot of love for the album.....

^I do love Animal Waves and although nothing spectacular Fly by Night ends the B-side/album perfectly. + I'm listening to Don't Say No right now and enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would.

It's very easy to edit and fix.

A vote for Landed. Love Babaluma too, but have a special thing for the former. I knew it was considered the album where it started going downhill (two stars on stupid Allmusic) but I had heard Vernal Equinox.somewhere and was completely blown away by it.

One of my favorite live clips on the internet. Jaki in a non-human metronome mood for sure. Its fusion. Just look at Irmin Schmidt hitting the keyboard.

I just listened to it on the way to work today, and that's the track I was mentioning! It DOES sound reggae-ish, right?! Or is it just me?!

Love all the effects and noisy keyboard stuff swirling all around the later half of that track too!

^Yes it's german reggae alright. I'm white, uptight and only drink beer so naturally I prefer it to jamaican. Lots of the commenters complain that they are more or less ripping off their sublime Moonshake from Future Days and there's no denying that. But I don't mind because those three short minutes of shaking the moon always left me wanting more.

That is a terrific vid.

I only have Soon Over Babaluma, so I won't vote, but this a good reminder for me to get more Can.  It's a big name with albums I love that I've been rather negligent with over the years.
Just a fanboy passin' through.

I'm loving that Vernal Equinox clip.  Amazing, the stuff that's out there...

I only have the first 3, and Soon Over Babaluma is a landmark album for Can in my book. Not only do I enjoy their change in sound, but it's probably the one Can album I'd recommend for a first listen - accessible in comparison to the stuff with Damo. Sometimes I need to take a break from all those funky, freaky albums and put on something a little bit more chill. In my top 3 for Can for sure.

Landed. I love the first two tracks on Babaluma but then get bored. Unfinished has a very varied range of sounds and Half Past One hilarious lyrics.
