I don't think their are really any bands i know that sound like supertramp. Some remind me of them, but don't entirely sound like them. Supertramp is pretty unique and they have earned their place in prog rock history. They are nothing short of awesome.

I find the Debut album by Supertramp to be similar to Comus or Gnidrolog

Try Mercury Rev too, similar at times to Hodgson's vocals, as in Jonathan Donahue

the Dawn of the Dead, Supertramp have some dark, murky songs though, apocalyptic themes is a trademark by them , Asylum, Rudy, Crime of the Century, Fools Overture, Hide in your Shell, Don't Leave me Now, Brother Where you Bound, Waiting So Long.

Crime of the Century is a dystopian, apocalyptic, doom prog album, of dark and manic proportions.

That track is basic early prog or art rock...nothing special about it imo.
Gnirdrolog perhaps but imo it doesn't sound anything like the original Comus lp which is off the wall bizarre prog folk with a weird and scary edge to it....not to mention eccentric vocals.

I would agree that 10CC would be the closest to Supertramp (and, in my opinion, superior). If it is the vocal harmonies you like, then Queen and ELO are both good choices as well. Also, Klaatu, who lists Supertramp among their strongest influences (along with 10CC).

Agree with pretty much all of the above mentioned. I always regarded Supertramp as an awesome band. I saw them live twice and they were outstanding, both times ending the concert  with Fool's Overture. Unique and original in their songwriting style, always had a dark streak. Although I tended to hear a similarity in Roger Hodgson's high vocals a bit like Geddy Lee.

I think Rick Davis might have the most original singer voice in art rock, i have heard no one with that gruff, baritone or his singing style and his songs in Supertramp has not their likes by his pairs in art rock, songs like Lover  Boy or Rudy or Asylum or From Now On, the way his songs builds and builds and the heaviness of them is sort of his trademark.

Yes, Klaatu for sure.  Also Carnegie, an odd band consisting of two brothers who played grand pianos and sang, and another brother who played Moogs and Mellotron.

Didn't remind me of Supertramp, but the first City Boy album is good so far, I like the funk, pretty good vocals. And I need to revisit 10cc - the songs I do have by them are eclectic.
