Topic: Amon Düül II; Experimental poll Posted: October 23 2012 at 18:31 |
from previous poll Carnival In Babylon got zero votes, so i put it up agains tthe 5 next after Wolf City;- who is a respected album to see how it fares against those albums which I observe is passed the hayday,
i am guessing that Carnival is not as bad as an album as i think, but how do you think it is sounding
how is the subsequent Amon Düül II albums?

No Only Human? Seriously though, I like that album, even if it is universally despised around here.

Interesting matchup. Aside from a few tracks, I'm not as fond of the last two, but the other 4 are all good albums. I'd expect Carnival to get some votes this time, but not from me -- Vive La Trance is among my favorite AD II albums, and it gets my vote here. Just a real kinky slinky album.
Honorable mention to Made in Germany too -- the double album version is a real neat ride. Worlds away from their early freaky stuff, but a fine album all the same.

Oh, I especially love `Viva La Trance' from this lot, a wide variety ot styles and sounds on this one, even if it is occasionally hit and miss in a few spots! Man, I love that slurred opening line "Listen to me there's something I can't say loud, I thought it was you and I was so f**king proud" - sounds TOTALLY wasted!! Blew my mind that first time I heard it!

I love Viva La Trance, and I have come to consider it as Wolf City part two. Fantastic album!

Carnival, easily. Fantastic album! These polls are starting to rekindle my liking for the band. Better put on an album soon.

No Vortex either - probably a smidge stronger than Only Human for me (oh, Kizmet is an awesome tune).
