I'm cheating a bit because a lot of the tracks are a rock/jazz fusion, so of course the sucker is gonna groove. Jazz, in general, I feel is built around the groove rhythem style. Incredibly needed. With out the groove, jazz would just be a bunch of scattered and disorganized noises.
Yeah you're probably right, but it's just sounds too scattered to me. I feel their is no rhythem. It's complicated instrument arrangements that goes on and on much like what John zorn does. Also, I wish I could watch your link, but I can't bring it up. :(

Some prog does not groove. Some prog grooves more and is more soulful than any other kind of music I've ever heard. I think the real problems are that this blues rock fanatic has not listened to a lot of prog, he loves making blanketed/overgeneralized statements, and is close minded.
A great example is directly in your avatar. Pink Floyd has a lot of groove. Jazz fusion grooves (HERBIE HANCOCK - "I Thought It Was You".)

Do you mean that prog is defined more by conceptual manners of composition and technique (Odd times signatures, long compositions, fusing of genres, boundary dissolving etc) rather than the actual experience of the "sound" or music referred to as prog?
I am a "prog" musician myself, i'm interested to see what exactly you mean.
