Topic: Favourite Archive singer? Posted: October 28 2012 at 13:34 |
There have been a lot involved with the band so tough tough choice!
Roya Arab
Rosko John
Suzanne Wooder
Craig Walker
Maria Q
Dave Pen
Pollard Berrier
Holly Martin
...Possibly for me it'd be Maria Q, not because she's the best but because I seem to the like the songs she's on the most. Berrier is probably technically the best, he can sing George Michael style to full on Robert Plant.

I thought this was going to be about your favorite PA singer, in which case I would have had to go with myself, as I've never heard the rest of you sing. Who the heck is Archive?
|
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

Never heard of Archive before, but having just looked at their PA page I'm intruged by the Michel Vaillant soundtrack since I'm a big motorsport fan.

Some class songs on that album.
Archive aren't for everyone, their first album was a Trip-Hop one and second full out pop offering. Since though they've blown Europe apart. They've kinda followed the Pink Floyd timeline of going Dance/Pop then film soundtrack etc etc.
I'll never know why they didn't crack the UK, it could be the many changes of direction and singer that people on the Continent probably like. I read they weren't allowed to promote in the UK due to management reasons or something similar.
I just know there are only a few acts who have brought a tear to my eye through sheer brilliance: Floyd on Dark Side of the Moon, A Trick of the Tail, some Ennio Morricone instrumentals and quite a few Archive tracks. No band can put you through the wringer like Archive can, especially with songs like 'Again,' 'Vilolently' and 'Collapse Collide.'
If Archive had to stick to one singer though, it'd be tough to choose.
