The PT period beginning with In Absentia is generally regarded as their move into heavier, sometimes even metal territory. PT's most famous and (public opinion) best albums were recorded from IA to now.
Which one is your favorite, of these 4 great albums?

In Absentia is their best out of these.
The Incident isn't too good imo, and Deadwing is a bit inconsistent for high ranking. Fear of Blank Planet is great, but i love the variety that IA provides with it's generous song amount.

never got the fuss over these guys, tried some albums and they were alright but too many parts that sounded like some poppy metal or alt rock or some sh*t. then again most neo-prog or modern prog or whatever just lacks that special magic to make me actually care about it

Deadwing by far for me over Inabsentia. The last two albums IMO have a sameness about them.

When I'm in the mood for PT, In Absentia is the one I tend to reach for the most.

Deadwing for me, definitely. FoaBP just doesn't cut it in my book.

For me, it's definitely Fear of a Blank Planet. I consider it one of the best modern prog albums.

Out of these: In Absentia
More of a fan of their late 90s stuff though.

Fear Of A Blank Planet is an awesome album. In Absentia in a close second, and Deadwing is a far third. I've been listening to a lot of PT lately - perfect November music.

In Absentia, since Light Bulb Sun is not a choice.
