two very distinct vocalists with powerfull voices with lots of range, both can go many octaves and both have powerfull voices, but who is the best singer in your opinion.
Both singers doo the same tongue thing when they are going for the high notes . also what would be most interesting Dream Theater featured a young Chris Cornell as the singer, or. Soundgarden with James as the vocalist , could you imagine Soundgarden wihtout Chris, or Dream Theater without James but with Cornell. could a younger Cornell cary songs like Learning to Live and Metropolis Prt 1? |

Cornell all the way! I love his tone and his attitude and overall he sounds more real than LaBrie which a lot of the time sounds like a big cliche.

Oh jeez, is this poll even serious!? Cornell! His range is amazing and his overall sound is pretty much what I love about Soundgarden. The rest of the band probably make him sound better, too. Plus, the guy's in my sig, so there's that, too.

One more vote for Cornell.
I don't hate LaBrie, I just like Cornell (much) more.

Chris's voice has this certain power to it I really admire. Overall, he's a much more accomplished singer, but neither of the singer's actual tone/quality of voice are that appealing to me. Both are perfect for the music they create.

I don't love Soundgarden but Cornell beats LaBrie any day. Just about anybody beats LaBrie for me.
