i haven't been on this forum in
forever, so im not sure if this topic has been discussed already... but here it goes
I have recently (i know sad, im losing touch with my musical obsession..) discovered that
Martin Lopez of ex-Opeth drummer and one of my personal
Biggest drumming
influences has released an album with a megaband of sorts. This album was well recieved by the press, with the only real negative response being that it sounds quite a lot like Tool. Personally i can see this comparison, however it is maybe 30% of the sound and the vocalist is MUCH better clean vocals wise than Tool's. Plus Tool takes forever to release an album, so whatever. Regardless its their first album, give em a chance and im sure they will find their 'sound'.
Anyway i was just wondering, after listening to the album on MOG... why isn't there a page created for this new band?!
It may not be too terribly 'proggy' in the traditional sense (yes i am speaking to all the Genesis and Yes fans who scoff at Anathema/Porcupine Tree/Riverside) but it is beautiful, elegant, spiritual, fantastic music none-the-less
At the very least it should be in the prog-related section of our wonderfully aging site. (sorry it's true, HTML5 anyone?)
And while im at it.. though its quite a longshot.. might i suggest Katatonia in the prog-related as well? Just a thought, although probably a redundant one.
