i haven't been on this forum in forever, so im not sure if this topic has been discussed already... but here it goes

I have recently (i know sad, im losing touch with my musical obsession..) discovered that Martin Lopez of ex-Opeth drummer and one of my personal Biggest drumming influences has released an album with a megaband of sorts. This album was well recieved by the press, with the only real negative response being that it sounds quite a lot like Tool. Personally i can see this comparison, however it is maybe 30% of the sound and the vocalist is MUCH better clean vocals wise than Tool's. Plus Tool takes forever to release an album, so whatever. Regardless its their first album, give em a chance and im sure they will find their 'sound'.

Anyway i was just wondering, after listening to the album on MOG... why isn't there a page created for this new band?!

It may not be too terribly 'proggy' in the traditional sense (yes i am speaking to all the Genesis and Yes fans who scoff at Anathema/Porcupine Tree/Riverside) but it is beautiful, elegant, spiritual, fantastic music none-the-less

At the very least it should be in the prog-related section of our wonderfully aging site. (sorry it's true, HTML5 anyone?)

And while im at it.. though its quite a longshot.. might i suggest Katatonia in the prog-related as well? Just a thought, although probably a redundant one.

I agree completely- might want to move this thread to the Suggest New Artists thread though?

They were rejected by the PM team, on the basis of not being prog enough to be included here. A tough decision as votes were tight but being a Tool clone does not make you prog definitely...

Their album was a pretty good one though but nowhere near the experimentation and progginess of Tool.

Katatonia have been discussed millions of times and the decision always ends up as "not prog enough" but you could suggest them for prog-related via a PM to an Admin.
