Ok, no big similarities between these two (they both have excellent flute, but that's another story...), but I ask you the very question:
what band do you like more?

I love them both, but Tull has more masterpieces and was more consistent over the years.

I don't agree about Camel not being consistent. Their two last albums are simply fantastic as well as their 90's or 80's stuff which ranges from ok to very good.
I would consider them to be one of the more consistent bands in this genre.

I'm not sure how much consistent are Jethro because I'm not familiar with their 80's or 90's stuff. So as much as I love Jethro Tull I'm going with Camel.

That's a good point. I was referring to their seventies output. Jethro Tull has 6 or seven albums in the seventies that I would consider excellent, whereas Camel only has four. You are probably right about Camel being more consistent after 1980.

And I agree with you about the 70's albums LOL but Jethro has much more albums than Camel.

Wow, I didn't expect this poll to be so lop-sided, and certainly not towards Camel! I know only Mirage from Camel (which is great), so I won't vote.

Camel, though Tull's Stand Up is one of my all time top favorite albums.

Tull simply don't connect with me on the same emotional level as Camel's first four. Both still great bands

I am not surprised that Camel is leading, but that they are by such a wide margin.  As usual in such contests, I vote Tull although I love Camel's music as well.

Tull by a mile; much more diverse than Camel. Camel to me seems to have one speed. I'm very surprised by the results so far. IMO Tull beats Camel in every category; music, lyrics, singing and performance!!
A GREAT YEAR FOR PROG!!!

That definitely is Camel's achilles heel, especially on the later albums.  Fortunately, for the really good albums, that is outweighed by the quality of songs and guitar soloing.
