I prefer Asterix because there is a lot of humor. Learn french right now, because there are a lot of subtilities that you couldn't find in the english books.

Asterix all the way. I grew up on hi so I love that stuff. Tintin is still cool but just doesn't have the same nostalgia for me.

Tintin can suck it.

Two of my favorite comic book series. Difficult to choose.
I read most of their albums already 35 years ago or something like that.
Okay, I choose Tintin, since I can enjoy his albums still after 35 years.

Asterix. My grandmother gave me my first comic, which was the first Asterix album, when it was just released in the end of 1966. It took me some more years to understand a few things because most 7-year old laddies don't know their classics yet. But I have always liked them.
It took me some more years to appreciate Tintin. I like them almost equally.

I like both, but probably give the edge to Tin Tin if only for Thomson and Thompson

Two of my favourites. My vote went to Tintin mainly for nostalgic reasons – but also because the Asterix albums made after Goscinny’s death are quite disappointing (at least the ones I have seen).

Maybe it's because you read the books in english. Read (or watch) Asterix and Cleopatra and The Twelve Tasks of Asterix and you'll understand why. As a Quebecer, we don't like the french accent but we cannot resist the great humor of Asterix.

Asterix is great, but I love Tintin and generally find it to have better plots and characters

Me too,
(translation): I love both but I think I'm going to vote for Asterix. It changed my youth.
Bien dit Félix (since their original languages are french).

Well, Lucky Luke wasn't as popular and it was more traditionnal than the other two comic books. These two books were the most influent and I'm pretty sure Lucky Luke will lose against the funny Asterix and the Mighty Tintin. If I'm wrong, say it to me. But I don't say that I don't like Lucky Luke. The Daltons are one of the greatest comic book characters. Funny. -
