Pink Floyd's first album and last album, head to head.
Division Bell for me.

Piper is one of the greatest albums ever made for me. Division Bell is alright but too much of it sounds like a  softcore porno soundtrack. Don't think anything on that album comes anywhere close to previous Floyd efforts, let alone the masterpiece of Piper.

At least you didn't do AMLOR instead of Division Bell :P

I prefer the melodic sophistication of The Division Bell to the raw madness of Piper.

Although I really do like TDB, I had too many great "experiences" with the Piper to vote any other way.

Clap Yeah, Piper is a masterpiece. IMO Division Bell doesn't even come close.

it's the section with those cheesy 90's synths and super reverbed guitar leads over it. sounds like any softcore porn music.

softcore porno music guys.

What kind of softcore are you watching? That sounds fantastic!

Piper is an experience.

Division Bell is product.  It's alright, but it's formula with few authentic surprises or shivers.

Division Bell is stronger overall to me.

A Pimppppper. Truly seminal and kind of entertaining. As for TDB, I just don't like it. I just -- don't -- like it ... except for a few tracks (though "High Hopes" ain't one of those favorites).

Easy one. Piper is one of the most important albums ever made. TDB is a good swan song, nice effort but nothing essential. It is much better than The Final Cut though.

It's funny how different opinions are.

No contest for me. Never understood what's to like about Piper...Don't get me wrong, there are some good songs there but the studio version is much weaker than any live version I heard.

So it's Division Bell by miles and miles and miles...

Well, `Piper' is one of the defining psychedelic albums, nothing else sounds anything like it before or since. I seriously O/D'd on the album years ago. It will get my vote, but....

`The Division Bell' is a grand, melodic and emotional sophisticated adult rock album - and probably worth it for the subtle beauty of `Cluster One' and `Marooned' alone.

Both wonderful albums!

Well, it seems to be an interesting poll after all.
When I write this, Piper and Bell have about the same amount of votes.
Experiment versus sophisticated product.
