Just curious, im starting to get into both bands so i found it would be cool to compare them in a poll, and to put them up against eachother, as they both are sort of 80s avant garde, experimental bands,

pick your favourite

I'm a fairly big Residents fan, but haven't had the opportunity to hear much Tuxedomoon.  I found one album and it sounds pretty good, and am seeking out others.  Any recommendations?

So far mine is the only 'both' vote...the two bands loomed large in my SF Bay area upbringing.

I think the first Residents albums (up through Eskimo) are way more original, but their legacy has been diluted over the years (my theory is that the band broke up around the time of the Mole albums...who would know?) And of course Tuxedomoon was also briefly a Ralph Records artist...so are they perhaps being considered for the Progarchives database..?

I have Tuxedomoon's 'Holy Wars' and it is often regarded as their best.

Tuxedomoon. And I still can't understand why they're not here, but  you can find a groups like Residents, Aksak Maboul, X-legged sally and many more which are certainly less progressive than TM.
