Seen that there are several topics for the best suites for each band, I think that it is an obligation to open one for Mike Oldfield. I put in this poll whole albums (Ommadawn, Tubular Bells, etc. are divided in parts but they can be considered as single compositions) and the "classic" over 10-15 minutes songs that he used to insert in almost each album.
For me it is a race between Tubular Bells, Amarok and maybe Crises, so I will have to think about it for a while, but I have to say that I love every track in this poll, except Music from the Balcony (but I really don't like the whole Heaven's Open album, the only song I love is the title track). |

Ommadawn remains my favorite, followed by Taurus II and then Tubular Bells.

In the end, I voted for Amarok. I really like Crises but I know that it is a bit under Amarok and Tubular Bells, which is another incredibly brilliant suite, but Amarok is simply perfect.

Hergest Ridge is very deceptive and works best as a complete suite. Amarok is a close second. The others I would rather break down into their seperate parts excepting Platinum which is extremely enjoyable as it is but not in the same league as the others.

Man, one artist I have to get back into - it's been a while. Can't say I've heard all that on the list, but Ommadawn is one of my favourite albums of all time. That one's a beauty. It opened my ears and expanded some horizons for sure.

I need to spend more time with Oldfield's stuff to get more familiar but Hergest Ridge is the one I have dug the most so far
