Well, I did stay awake the whole night, but even then, I do listen to approx. 10 albums a day, and there are 20 albums on my list. 20/10=2, two days, yesterday and today. Tongue

Hey Nic! Love the new avatar. Makes me want to keep my beard actuallyLOL Looks pretty much like yours at the moment, only curly and brown... Oh and are you sure you're not named Marco? You look almost exactly like one of my old friends, it's uncanny! Although he is more of a punk musically though, he's spread out to zany music through jazz, but I gather it's not exactly the kind of stuff you've posted hereLOL
BTW Loooove the Cynic albumCool

I did it to honor my one year with PA. Sometimes it's nice to put a face with a name considering I've talked with a lot of nice people here, but I had to change the avatar to a more worldly look. Lol everytime I open my profile I really don't want to stare at my crazy-bearded Mug. Lol! Oh and keep the beard alive Dave! Bet you look like a Danish prince.
Also, it's funny you say I look like your friend cause people always tell me I'm a dead ringer of so many different people...I guess i can never look like me. :)

Anyway. Cynic is amazing and I think that they are a really important prog metal/experimental band. I want to write a rave review for this one some day. Later beard brother. :)

Blargh I just shaved yesterday.... It was so hot and sunny that I decided to ditch the face sweater. That thing was toasty dudeDead
You should change back again though. Looked pretty cool with that beard, and you know the prog chicks go for beards rightWink So much poontang up in this mother - especially if you look like a caveman with a fetish for guitars.

Tangerine dream - Hyperborea
Alcest - Ecailles de Lune
Tangerine Dream - Green Desert
SBB - Karlstad
Tangerine Dream - Live 74 Sheffield
East of Eden - Mercator Projected
Japan - Gentlemen take Polaroids
Amon Düül ll - Carnival in Babylon
Carol of Harvest - S/T
Smell of Incense - Through the Gates of deeper Slumber (had it not been for the horrible 'A Word in Season', this one would've been a masterpiece imo)
Modry Efekt & Radim Hladek - S/T
Clearlight - Clearlight Symphony (been a while since I last spun this, and I had completely forgotten how good it is - and how incredibly psychedelic it is. Sounds like a freakin Krautrock record at times!)

Ha, I really like that album, pretty sure I have it a four star review a little while back, but I've always found the vocals pretty rough around the edges lol! I guess to many that's exaclty one of it's charms?!

Well dang! You've got taste buddy!!!Big smileTongue
I actually just talked JOhn into buying that Alcest album, so now I'm crossing my fingers hoping he'll enjoy it as much as I do. If I wrote a review of it today, I'd give it 7 stars.

Oh and those vocals are indeed rather archaic sounding - even if it is a female.
Remind me a bit of this - but this is betterCool(please check out the wonderful goosebumps inducing keyboard solos - if you haven't yet heard it):

Crap, two embarrassing confessions, Dave! First, I'll have to wait until I get home, because works blocks Youtube clips, so I have no idea what you've just posted!

Second, I thought you meant `Eclat - L'Espirit du Cercle', a charming little instrumental/Neo-prog album, shows I wasn't really paying attention!

Guess I should actually look in that REAL Alcest album now!

First of all - the clip posted is 'Put on your Nightcap' by Carol of Harvest. You probably know this one, but if you don't, then I'll stake my frontlawn that you'll love it like a beautiful labrador.

Secondly the Alcest album is beautiful, BUT it does feature a bit of those harsh vocals. You've been warnedTongue Nahh it's not even that bad - only rarely do they pop up, yet they feel properly integrated in the music - and there's always a melodic guitar line counterpointing them.
Mostly though it feels like a dreamy futuristic Floydian record - only quite unique.

Awe you caved!? Hot weather made ya shave of the sweater. Enjoy the breeze and maybe someday I'll go back to captain beard and I hope your right about prog chicks digging beards cause girls here in T-Dot don't go for it. Toronto is a very superficial city dude. :(

Anyway. Love seeing that you spun Hyperborea. That album is worth 5 very huge fat-beards out of 5 for me. What a beauty. :)

Ha! If by binge, my friend, you mean going on a bit of a bender and buying 6 T.Dream CD bargains off Ebay, then you're spot on!

Finally getting CD replacements for `Tangram' and `Exit', as well as picking up some fairly unknown TD releases - `Tournado Live', `Miracle Mile', `Rockoon' and `The Angel of the West Window' - for a few dollars. Going by the reviews on the Archives, these are quite a risk, but I'm very curious and hoping I'll find something interesting on them by lowering any sort of expectation!

I've heard none of those, so you gotta let me know if any are worth picking up. ;)

Exit is pretty cool. Did ya like that one? Kiew Mission is a cool opener.
