Sorry, Sagi, yes, I should have stated, the majority of these were second hand and only a few dollars each! Probably why I was happy to take a chance on them. The most I paid was $15 for the Schulze LP, and its in superb condition...I'm sure it's not too easy to come across now, I have a feeling the vendor didn't know what it was!

Yes, heard `Beat' long ago, but not for many years, so it will be like new!

Moraine....I've had the live album for a while now and I really like it, but damn it took aaaaages to click with me! Sounds like you've had the same trouble with them. A very stony grey band, quite cold...but I suggest keeping at it!

I only know OF the `Moving Gelatine Plates' album, but never heard them. I have to admit, I nearly fell over when I saw it, I was instantly excited! Looking forward to hearing them.

Antarctica is just thw main theme of a movie soundtrack repeated several times with few variations so to fill an entire album. So one excellent and one bad...

Ha, I just noticed your review of `Antartica' now, Luca!
OK, I'll approach with an open mind...I'll either find it very atmosperic and hypnotic, or tedious and repetitive. I will report back soon!

Too melodic to be hypnotic, IMO. Anyway good luck Wink. The movie was not too bad.

Great albums you have there, although I don't know half of them LOL
I would surely be happy to find a Schulze vinyl too and Albedo 0.39 is one of my favourite Vangelis too. Big smile
Let me know what you think about Tyger and Antartica.

I'm listening to Open Your Eyes by Yes and I think it's not as bad as the ratings indicate. What do you guys think of it?

Sam, I've listened once all the way through to `Tyger', and I think it's generally very good! The female vocals over the top are striking and evocative, but the arrangements and the playing are instantly recognizable as Tangerine Dream. Honestly, I am shocked at how focused and inspired the band sound on this! Quite happy with this one!

`Open Your Eyes' is not nearly as bad as some people make it out to be. OK, so it's frequently overproduced, it's really just glorified AOR with proggy playing behind the commercial arrangements, and Jon Anderson often sounds quite shrill, but there's traces of quality stuff throughout. Chris's bass still sounds great, and tracks like `Fortune Seller' and `Universal Garden' are really rather good. I'd give it about a three out of five!

If - If 2
Forgas Band Phenomena - Acte V
Slivovitz - Bani Ahead
Glass Hammer - If

Sound of Contact - Dimensionaut - Nick! I still keep coming back to this one, very undemanding to spin as a background listen. Is it just me, or, after a couple of tracks in, every single song on this album has a chorus that sounds like it’s dipped in honey! I swear, Simon Collins would make his Dad proud with these melodic catchy beauties! Trafficking drugs like he just got busted for...probably not so much

LOL I surprised myself with how much I like this album, too.  It's not really epic or anything, it's just very enjoyable and it makes me hopeful for what could be in store for the future.

TD with female vocals? That seems nice! I'll listen to it tomorrow Smile

I never understood why AOR is a synonym for bad music for many people here. Its not a great album  but it's not a bad album either.

Last two days:

Klaus Schulze - Moondawn
Roxy Music - Siren (I'm enjoying very much discovering their music Big smile)
Bill Bruford's Earthworks - Earthworks
Atomic Rooster - In Hearing Of (Awesome album! Cool Only one more to go )
Mostly Autumn - The Ghost Moon Orchestra (Very nice album Nick, although it's too soon for me to choose favourites yet Tongue)
Return to Forever - Romantic Warrior

Today I went an easy route and listened to the Angel Dust by Faith No More. But yesterday, or actually today early morning before bedtime, it was Wind and Wuthering by Genesis. Ah, I love to reveal/promote what I am listening to at the moment :D
