Yesterday:
Bo Hansson - Attic Thoughts (Amazing album Michael! I love how dynamic and very well performed the music is. I have to listen to it again though: I'm still processing all of it LOL)

Great, Sam! Yes, when I first started getting into prog, about 20 years ago, a friend on here, Tom Ozric, gave me his LP of `Attic Thoughts', and I was instantly blown away by the cover alone! The music took me somewhere else altogether! So it's been very special to me ever since then, and it's become one of those albums I've heard endlessly, yet never even begun to tire of it.

Glad you enjoyed!

Oh and if you guys dig Bo Hansson, then you should definitely check out another Swede called Eric Malmberg. He is listed here in electronic, but the album I have 'Verklighet & Beat' sounds like a modern take on Hansson. A lot of that is probably down to Malmberg playing the exact same Hammond organ as Hansson once used for his classic albums. Highly recommended, especially if you're into that old school sound.

Two of their absolute finest there, my good Doctor!

How did you find this, Sam? I should have warned it's a lot more subtle and almost drone-based than other electronic artists like T.Dream, etc. If you don't enjoy it much, you may find his third album `Atmosphere' has a bit more movement and variety.

Thanks for the Hansson-related recommendation too, Dave!

Sagi, other than knowing Bo Hansson's `Watership Down' well (and that one is really lovely), I have two of his other albums `Magician's Hat' and `Lord of the Rings', had them for years, but I've rarely spun them. I've simply felt so satisfied with those previous two I mentioned, still enjoying them, that I haven't felt the need to move on yet! I'll agree to give them a spin if you do?!
His debut album (Sagan Om Ringen) is the only one I knew and to my understanding it's the same album as Lord Of The Rings (I don't think it's a rerecording, it's just the same album released outside of Sweden).
So if you have that one I urge you to investigate, I think it's just as good as Attic Thoughts, full of dreamy atmospheres and haunting moods, definitely more psychedelic than Attic...

One of their best albums.  I'm not sure why the band is so against it, regardless of the experience involved in creating it.

Opeth - Pale Communion
RHCP - Blood Sugar Sex Magik
Bear Hands - Distraction (I'm surprised by this one.  A newer indie album that doesn't annoy me.)

I liked very much this album. I think it's better than his previous album: it's more accessible and atmospheric. It easily transmits the feelings he wants the listener to feel and doing that on a PE album is not always easy Smile
I listened the album on Youtube with not so good quality, so I feel I haven't experienced it well enough Tongue

I listened to that one yesterday and it's really good, not as good as Attic though. It sounds psychedelic and krautrock, reminding me sometimes of Popol Vuh.
