What albums did you listen to today?

^ I'll have to give Light Echoes another listen, I was really tired and had an headache so I didn't pay much attention... at least I fell asleep and the headache stopped thanks to the album
As for Cosmic Ground I haven't listened to it since that time we spoke about it, but now, with much more PE knowledge, I can see your point: there are so much artists inpired by TD and Schulze with very original work that a copy of them seems unecessary

ANY of the first several Santana band albums are worthwhile, Sam. After that third album they started becoming more adventurous when they entered the `spiritual/fusion’ phase, but those early albums are all full of great varied tracks and terrific playing!

The Haken `Restoration’ EP...seems kind of dull. I’ve played the first side several times, and the two tracks seem quite unengaging. The side-long b-side seems stronger. Will keep at it and report back.

Oresund Space Collective...You really can’t go wrong with ANY of their albums! I’m also having trouble remembering specific ones, I’ve even reviewed several of them, but they pretty much all sound good! I did recently buy a vinyl of theirs called `Organic Earthly Flotation’, but while it was still cool, that one was really very guitar heavy, which I didn’t enjoy quite as much. I would probably especially recommend a Eastern themed one called `West, Space and Love’ which is more ambient with lots of sitar, but it’s a real diversion from their usual sound. I should also mention that band-leader Scott (Dr Space) often puts up complete free concerts on the Archive website to download, and I’m currently listening to a four-plus hour show from a week ago that is very mellow! I can send you the link next time I’m on FB, it’s well worth your time downloading it, I’m finding it a perfect way to unwind on the drive home from work!

I have to agree here - Gudrun is just that little bit more exciting than the debut. I'm surprised ABB finds the debut a 4 star rate - I've tried, but it just doesn't blow me out enough to gain excellent status, it does have some good parts, but Gudrun blows it out of the water. Looks like I have a lonely birthday coming up too......
