Two terrific albums, Sam!

The `Grand Turismo Veloce' one is how you make a modern RPI album that has all the trademarks of the style, yet sounds wonderfully modern and never slavishly imitating the 70's bands. Pretty much a perfect album to my ears, and it's a nice compact length so there's no chance for filler tracks.

I think the first `Il Cerchio...' one is probably stronger of their two proper albums, but `Icaro' is just a lovely, reliable and tasteful listen that always puts me in a great mood! I've only got the CD of that one, but the LP set from Black Widow looks AMAZING!! I was very fortunate to get to interview that band a couple of years back (it's posted in the `Interviews' section here), they couldn't have been nicer and more excited to be part of it, I was very humbled.

The 'Grand Turismo Veloce' albums is pretty good although I didn't give the attention it deserves Tongue

At first listen 'Il Viaggio di Colombo' seems to have better material but the next one sounds like they really improved in terms of production. I just looked the LP and it is indeed amazing, I guess I'll have to get, right? LOL I just finished reading the interview, great job Clap

Today:
Green Day - Warning
Collage - Moonshine (Very good album Nick! Great guitar work and I like those 90's keyboard sounds, those are starting to sound vintage now Tongue)
Il Cerchio d'Oro - Il Viaggio di Colombo
Brainticket - Celestial Ocean (Spacey and electronic Krautrock with strange female vocals that remind of Gong Tongue)
Jardin de la Croix - 187 Steps to Cross the Universe (Half of it actually, sorry Audun Ouch)

I knew you'd love that one. It's in my top five Neo albums of all time.
Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

Nick, I looked the band up, I saw you can get two CD sets of four of their albums, including this one you mention. Do you have any of the 2 CD sets, or would you recommend any of their other albums as well?

Just have the single. I'd like to get their second set that contains albums 3 and 4 in their discography.
I'd go for the 2cd set though, Michael. How bad could the other album be?
Even if its half of what moonshine is, it'll be a delight. :)

Mate, I haven't listened to that one in a few years, Sam! I seem to recall the vocals were rather rubbish on it, kind of the reason for my kind of dismissal of it compared to the self-titled and `Sommerabend' albums?

^ I really liked it and didn't have any problem with the vocals, although I don't think they are very good. I don't know their next ones, since I only started listening to them now :P

I may have to dig it out again, Sam. Oh, the next two are pretty damn special, especially `Sommerabend'.

I actually have the LP of the self-titled one in a frame on my hallway wall right now, beautiful cover art!

Those two are the ones that were recommended to me, but I thought I should give the first one a listen Smile

Do you have to unframe it when you want to listen, or is it another copy? Tongue

No, I took all the actual LP's and their plastic pockets out before putting the sleeves in the frames! Although the frames are designed for the exact purpose of dispaying LPs, but I didn't want them to be heavier on my wall by keeping the vinyl inside them! They now sit looking rather naked and crappy on my LP bookself!

I actually heard glass crashing in the middle of the night, thought someone was breaking into my house, turned out one of the frames fell off the wall and shattered on the ground! Clearly the feng-shui of my hallway did not like ELP's `Trilogy'!

^^ You could make some custom covers for those Tongue

LOL I have that LP but I don't look much at the cover. The first one has the only cover that I like.

Just listened to War of Kings, the new Europe album. Excellent bluesy heavy rock - very Deep Purple like in places. Hell of a long way from The Final Countdown!
