Oh boy. My neighbors who live above me have gone on vacation for 2 weeks! That means myself, taking my sound system into Interstellar volume levels. Every night will be concert night.

Kicking off with...

Fields of the Nephilim-- Ceremonies (live at Shepards Busch stadium 2008)
Rush--A Show of hands
OZZY OSBOURNE-- memoirs of a madman ( DVD 1. The music videos.)

Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

Saw your review the other day and now know I have to get it, especially after I've been spining the debut so much lately.

Yeah, most of their albums are like that. Stick with it, and, hopefully, it will reveal its wonderful secrets. You haven't heard any of their other albums?

Me today:

Motorpsycho & Ståle Storløkken - En konsert for folk flest (this is another amazing album from these guys, up there with The Deat Defying Unicorn, IMO, but as usual with Motorpsycho's releases, it requires several listens to reveal its secrets Wink)
Pink Floyd - A Saucerful of Secrets
Pink Floyd - Animals
Pink Floyd - The Endless River
Don't know anything else from them, but I'll give this one a few more spins before moving to another Smile What would you recommend after?
Phanerothyme (retro 60's psych pop-rock, my personal favourite from them), In the Fishtank (with Jaga Jazzist Horns, fusion) and The Death Defying Unicorn (with Ståle Storløkken on keyboards, and also an orchestra, their rock opera prog masterpiece) would all be good albums to continue your Motorpsycho journey with, IMO.

Yeah, parts of En konsert for folk flest reminded me of something from A Saucerful of Secrets (the title track), so I had to listen to that, and I had parts of "Dogs" in my head the other day, so I had to listen to that as well, and then I just had to hear "Autumn '68", with its lovely organ, which En konsert for folk flest also has a lot of. LOL

How's that Not a Good Sign album? Haven't gotten around to it yet. Their debut is wonderful though. That reminds me, got to listen to that one again soon.

Anyway, me today:

Van der Graaf Generator - The Least We Can Do Is Wave to Each Other
Van der Graaf Generator - H to He, Who Am the Only One
Van der Graaf Generator - Godbluff
Van der Graaf - The Quiet Zone / The Pleasure Dome
Van der Graaf - Vital: Van der Graaf Live

Thanks, I'll keep those albums in mind Smile

It was a logical selection then, that album seems interesting too.

I don't know their debut, but I didn't find this album very good Ermm

Yesterday:
Trace - s/t
Albatross - s/t
Salis - Dopo Il Buio
Audio Cologne Project - 2911
Sezione Frenante - Metafora Di Un Viaggio (It doesn't seem like much at first listen, but I feel like I have to return to it often, and that's good. Really like the bass and guitar work but I wish they would use better keyboards, the accordion solo didn't sound good at all. Michael, did you notice the Deep Purple's 'Space Truckin' rip-off on the second track? Tongue)

No, not too familiar with Deep Purple, my friend, so it probably passed me by! Don't worry about not digging the album too much at first, I was exactly the same way. In fact, I was kind of dragging my feet to get the Add of the band to the Archives done! But after many listens, it all falls into place, and the album has a nice flow to it. It's not the most extravagant RPI album, if anything it's quite subdued, but once you become familiar with it, I hope you'll start to enjoy it as much as I did.

Actually, I'm listening to the album again right now, man I really like the organ and keyboards on it! Again, the album has a bit of a low-budget sound to it, but I think that's kind of it's charm that makes it sound like a `genuine' RPI album from the Seventies?

How did you go with the Trace album?

How did you go with the Trace album?
Knowing their music very well, it wasn't very good to hear, a bit like Albatross riping-off Yes... twice LOL Speaking of it, I noticed the other day that a sequence on the Synaesthesia debut is exactly the same as a Mort Garson track, but I'm sure it wasn't on purpose Tongue
I really like the vibe of the album, it flows very nicely as you say without sounding bland or simplistic, there was even a time signature I couldn't recognize... another reason for me to give it another spin Wink

That Trace album is amazing, there's so much energy in their music. It has the obvious ELP and Yes influences but it has some identity of their own Thumbs Up

Their debut's a beauty! Worth checking out, even if you don't like their sophomore album, although I, as said, haven't heard that one yet, so I can't compare them. LOL

Anyway, today:

Seven Impale - City of the Sun
tr-Ond and the Suburban Savages - s/t
Kaukasus - I
Goat - Commune
Agusa - Högtid

I'll give it a listen then. Some reviewers said their first one is better. I saw their drummer playing with Syndone last week, that's why I listened to that album Smile

Electrophon - Zygoat
Stan Getz & João Gilberto - Getz/Gilberto
Tchaikovsky - Piano Concerto Nº1
Thelonious Monk - Brilliant Corners
