How's that Causa Sui album? I'm curious because we are evaluating the drummer's solo albums, which are great, if you like Zombi I think you'll like them Smile

Yesterday:
Djam Karet - The Devouring
Nisus - Electronic Medication
Alms - Beyond
Tangerine Dream - Rubycon
Tau - s/t

I found Causa Sui to be different than the hard rock/metal instrumental albums I've been listening to lately.
While that sound is sometimes present there are more styles that make this band less repetitious than
Scale The Summit or Animals As Leaders.
The sound will go from a slight Mid-Eastern influence (in the beginning) to heavier but brief rock moments and then to a mellow, spacier level which is the base of the entire album.
I enjoyed the music from beginning to end and wasted no time ordering the CD.

They have other full albums on YouTube that I will try today but some of their CDs are a little expensive.

The latest Anekdoten is superb, Sam. Their most mature and subtle work yet, simply beautiful. Have you heard it?

Is that Barock Project album as good as many fans (and the band themselves! ) say it is?

Just got my latest Syn-Phonic order ysterday, so plenty of new listens on the way!

I listened once and I really liked it although I don't know many of their previous albums to compare :P

Too early to know if it's that good, but it was a very pleasant first listen. It reminds me of Spock's Beard :)

Sweet! Let me know what you bought :)

I bought the LP of this (which came with a CD version as well), and I've had the CD in the car for months now - yet I've never played it!

Is it any good? I like bits and pieces of most of their last few albums, and I think the previous one to this newie was very impressive.

(Yes, I WILL just put the dammn CD in the player tonight! )

Last couple of days, the last batch of albums to check out for the Modern polls:

Tool - Lateralus *
Kayo Dot - Choirs of the Eye *
Cardiacs - A Little Man & a House and the Whole World Window *
Kevin Gilbert - The Shaming of the True
La Maschera di Cera - Lux Ade
Ske - 1000 Autunni *
Miasma & the Carousel of Headless - Perils *
Frogg Café - Bateless Edge *
Porcupine Tree - In Absentia *
Swans - Soundtracks for the Blind *
Diagonal - s/t
The Flower Kings - Unfold the Future
Secret Chiefs 3 - Book of Horizons *
Arena - Contagion

* indicates favourites

Hooo! That was quite the job you had me do there, Micky. Discovered a lot of new artist to investigate further though, so it was definitely worth it! Big smile Mezquita might be the pick of the bunch though (already ordered that one, along with a bunch of others). Thanks for setting this up. Thumbs Up

Then, on bandcamp, this little heavy bluesy thing, with nice female vocals on one track, released this April:

Sulphat'Ketamine - Giant Runk (the sludgy psychedelic first track showed promise, the second track wasn't bad either, after that it was a bit too much blues and boogie for my taste)
