Heh I thought I was the only one who'd purchased Shadowlands. I simply adore the first disc but haven't really gotten my head around the second - felt a little too..erm docile/ambient perhaps? A revisit seems in place methinks.
Btw have you ever checked out Steve Moore's (one half of American electronic act Zombi) solo output? I think you'd dig his two most recent albums. Light Echoes sees him moving away from composed material and into a looser and ultimately more Berlin sounding palette with both nods to TD and Schulze (although he still retains his own 'voice' if you will), whereas his newest 'Pangaea Ultima' is a move towards a more original and modern expression.
I'm doing good thanks. I just spent a fortnight in Copenhagen, and while it was a lot of fun with friends and strangers, I still am feeling the aftermath of too much fun/drinking. So much so that I'm pondering just where the hell my summer vacation went. I start my studies in 10 days. Time to hit the water-wagon perhaps. Aside from that I'm just thrilled to lay around in my folks garden watching bumblebees flicker about like small fury drunk insects - listen to FSOL (like today) and just breathe ever so slowly. I love when time slows down to an ooze.

Dave, I finally got around to checking out Steve Moore. Wooh! Very impressed. I like all 4 off the new album, this is something I will definitely get. Thanks for the recomm my friend . This also means Zombi are next for me to look into (seriously how have I not heard them yet ). I guess there is a lot of music out there so I have an excuse . I love cd 2 of Shadowlands though it is exceptionally reserved. Where I work music is a no-no, however between Christmas and New Year when there was hardly anybody in I was playing this in the office (I was alone in the room, there'd usually be 4 of us). A girl popped in from another department, heard the music, apologised for interrupting me and left! I saw her later, she apologised again for disturbing my meditation . Classic. On the subject of FSOL have you ever heard Environments 2? That is an amazing album and light years ahead of their other releases. I'd put it pretty close to Lifeforms, it's that good. Right back to their old style and approach. I think a lot of it may have been composed back then but just tweaked around and released a couple of years back.

Hey, glad to hear you like the Schnauss album . No, I don't know Loom at all. I will add that to my ever-growing list of bands to try out . They certainly have a good heritage. There is seriously so much music out there and not enough time.

| Cool Roj - I'm glad you enjoyed that. I'm fairly certain you'll dig Zombi as well, although there is quite a difference to be heard. Btw both Zombi and Moore are releasing new albums on the 16th of October. Moore is doing the soundtrack for a horrormovie called Cub while Zombi seems to have gone back to a more space rocking sound (with heaps of the ol mellotron). That anecdote from work really made me chuggle! 'Disturbing your meditation' hahahah I love it!! I work with kids - maybe it's the ambient stuff I need to play? I've tried all kinds of musics: Magma (the kids went apefeaces - looking like a small but infinitely cute army of jumping Uruk-Hais), Prodigy (never again - it was like pouring gas on a fire, yikes) and more recently some Area (which made them look at me like I was crazy 'is that yodelling Big David?' (there are often more than one David around and I tend to be the biggest)). I only have Environments 4 actually, but I've always been curious about the other ones. I'll be sure to check that one out, thanks man!
