^ It's the worst track from Houses, but still better than "Black Country Woman" or "Boogie With Stu" IMO Ermm

Earlier this morning:

Advent - Silent Sentinel (highly recommended to Gentle Giant fans)

This afternoon:

DFA - 4th (wonderful Italian jazz-rock, one of my favourite albums of the past 15 years)
Eccentric Orbit - Attack of the Martians (great keyboard prog from Boston inspired by classic sci-fi movies)

I know. I've heard tracks from all three, just haven't gotten around to get them yet. Will definitely do so someday.

Go the 'headphone way.' Very economical for top notch sound that won't cost you 50 billion dollars. Lol. :)
LOL A friend of mine, who's an audiopfile like you, has this theory that you shouldn't listen to a sound system or headphones that has better sound than what you currently have (and is expensive), 'cause if you do you'll feel the need to get that better sounding equipment, and wouldn't want to go back to your current set-up. A bit far-fetched perhaps, but it sounds pretty reasonable to me. LOL

I know I don't necessarily need to spend billions to have a decent sound system, and it's not like I wouldn't mind upgrading, but I'm pretty happy with what I've got right now, and would rather spend what I can of my earnings on CD's ATM. You know how that is, don't you, Nick? And especially now when it's closing in on the end of the year, still so much stuff from '15 I need to get and listen to. LOL

Anyway. Keep spinning that Tull. I did ' Aqualung' this weekend. ;)
I'm done with Tull for the time being, I feel. Still love 'em a lot, but not as much as when I'd just discovered them. Just don't feel the urge to listen to them that often anymore. My taste have moved away from them a bit I'd say.

Aqualung, not my favourite album of theirs, never have been. The title track is one of their best songs, IMO, and there's other strong songs there as well, like "Cross-Eyed Mary", "Up to Me", "My God" and "Hymn 43", but the rest doesn't quite hold up for me, and "Locomotive Breath" just bores me, allways have. But keep spinning it, you could do worse, Tull/IA certainly did. Wink LOL

Hi Audun
I see you've had your first spin of Stadsvandringar. What did you make of it?
I know it's a pretty straightforward affair, especially to a prog fan, but I still love it.
Yeah, gave it its first spin yesterday. I enjoyed it, but I felt it wasn't completely up to par with the rest of their output. A bit simpler and, as you said, straightforward than the rest, but by all means not bad. Don't think they're capable of making a bad album. I've got them all now (Stadsvandringar was the last I was missing), and there's not one of their albums I don't like. Great band!

Not sure I agree with you about their last one being their best though. It's good, I'll give you that, but for me it's about fifth, I think, after Tio bitar, the debut, Ta det lungt and 4. I've given that one, too, just one listen so far though, so, as is the case with Stadsvandringar, it might still grow on me.
Well I go waay back with Stadsvandringar, so that may have something to do with it. Cool you now have all the Dungen albums though - me too! Not a bummer in sight......and yes I may have come on a little strong earlier on, when I said it was their best album to date....but it's damn close. My faves prior to it were 4 and Tio Bitar, but I rather like the more progressive in-put and rawer psychedelia of the new one. Who cares anyway? Doesn't need to be a 'number one' (as much as we prog fans tend to categorize everything from music to mayo).

Oh and btw have you seen the video for Franks Kaktus?LOL

Gotta love the Swedes (and their style).
Plan on giving both another listen soon, will treat myself to a Dungen marathon one of these days, I think.

LOL Cool vid! Yeah, gotta love the Swedes, although there's an old Norwegian saying about Söta Bror: "can't live with 'em, can't invade 'em". Tongue

<span style="line-height: 14.56px;">[QUOTE=TeleStrat]Today's choices...</

Well my friend. I've experienced quite a few flagship headphones paired with top level amps and I realize that what I have at home in living room is that of very good. When you get to a certain tier in quality there really is no such thing as 'better' only 'different.' however the trick is finding that 'difference' that agrees with you the most. It's hard to do, but that's the beautiful adventure that lies with in the audio world.
And yeah Cd's ATM is Rune Gramophones cash guzzler.   .
Believe me I get hit with it too. ;)
Also, yeah Tull's Aqualung kind of didn't do it for me last listen. Their was just a bit too much familiarity there, although the title track still gets me going. ;)
Anyhow. You've got a point there.

Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣
