The best track is Fracture though, but still, a good album there.

Yep, Dave, that `Synthesist' album is endlessly gorgeous! The front cover of the man himself in the glasses on the vinyl version sucks a lot, but at least the goods are inside!

That second Agitation Free album is a strange one! The electronic `experiments' are a bit of a miss, but the extended instrumental pieces are sublime. Which do you feel is better, the first or the second album?

Dave, I remember Tom Ozric convinced me to buy that Tonton Macoute album on LP at a record fair many years ago, a wise choice! Terrific album (although that first track reminds me a lot of the Rolling Stones, but it's all uphill from there).

Funny you mention TD's `Green Desert', I've got a local record fair this Sunday, and one of the guys I always buy several items off has had that CD there for $10 for months, and I've decided I will absolutely pick it up this time!

Hey there Mike - sorry for the late feedback. I'm a bit all over the place currently due to work and some papers I gotta do, so PA has been stuck in line for a little while(which also is the reason for the lack of reviewsOuch)

I kinda like the kitschy frontcover of Synthesists, although if we're talking Caucasian males dressed up as Africans - there's no getting around the great Don

I'm not sure which Agitation Free album I prefer tbh. Back when I got i9nto the band, I much preferred the second pinkish one. I'm blaming The Grateful DeadCool Yet as time passes, I seem to be getting more and more into the debut. It's rougher around the edges, with a slight Middle eastern avant flavour to it, yet still very melodic in the right places. BTW you should definitely check out their live albums! That's where the party's at big boy!

Green Desert eh? If you don't buy that album, I'm personally coming over there to glue your shoes on permanently. Consider that a warning.
It is a wonderful album. You sense an early 70s foundation - the moods are more floating and porous, drawn out, plus the add on of drums really makes the music jump(in a hazy way though...) Sure there are loads of 80s studio tinkering going on, but not so much so as the album deteriorates from it. My guess is that it'll probably wind up as your fave 1980s TD release. - Excluding live albums from the decade, it is definitely mineApprove

He ain't touching my kangaroo plums....NO SIR, I DON'T LIKE IT!!

Funny you mention `Logos', Nick, I listened to that just last night! Other than the occasional dated 80's sounds here and there, it's a very fine album. Dammned if that synth-pop track at the end doesn't sound like the fluffier stuff by bands like Air these days!
