Anyway. Up early this morning, so far I've got
Fates warning--Parallels
Vanden Plas--Seraphic Clackwork
Tangerine Dream--Logos |
I mailed him just now, which then means that Mike can look forward to a groping session from a black white man come September.....hopefully that is, the Don seemed rather fragile as I was stuffing him down the envelope....

You can thank me later for the lovin' coming your way!

Deep Purple-Fireball
Found a used cd for $4.99.......I have to say that as much as I have listened to these guys over the years ( from as early as 69 for me ) while they are definitely good players their songwriting often seems uninspired rock at times .

Thanks for the reminder, guys, forgot yesterday's mostly sublime choices! After a strange start, generally headed in an electronic, spacey direction: Renaissance - Prologue Willowglass - The Dream Harbour Tangerine Dream - Alpha Centauri Tangerine Dream - Tyranny of Beauty (hmmm, AOR dance music with wailing guitar solos anyone?) Tangerine Dream - Phaedra Otarion - Evolution Paul Nagle - Lore Zoltan - First Stage Zoltan Djam Karet - The Trip DOM - Edge of Time (what a stunner!)

That DOM record is a real humdinger BTW do you have the release with the bonus tracks? Flotenmenschen is insane - like in literally gone completely fishing Man what a strange piece....I do genuinely enjoy it though.

I love how simple the drumming is. It's like that with most of their releases, and I think it suits the atmospheres brilliantly. Sometimes less is more. My fave Cure tune at the moment is probably Prayers For Rain

Lol | Well, after the Goblin fires have been extinguished , I'll put up my review of `The Trip', it's very much inspired by Dave's `stream-of-consciousness' way or reviewing that really helped me with those early electronic ones I wrote! It will also help if you know the `Bowfinger' movie, because I drew some odd and rather lame comparisons to it! I do like a good TD binge! I have to say, though, it's so different listening to those early gloomy freeform terrifying and suffocating early albums, then the more melodic mid-late 70's ones, then the 80's works etc! They really all suit different moods! Dave, I've got the CD of Dom, and yes, it does come with bonus tracks, btu I haven't heard them in a while! I think I kind of dismissed them, if only because the actual studio album is pretty much already perfection as it is!
