Indeed. I just can't decide whether I like The Mantle or Ashes Against the Grain more. Gotta listen to Marrow of the Spirit too and I didn't like Pale Folklore that much, though it may grow.
As for today:

Converge - Jane Doe
Radiohead - Amnesiac
Can - Ege Bamyasi
Deftones - Around the Fur
Tool - Lateralus

Ashes against the grain is a more mature release to me. Darker too, even though The Mantle was kinda moody to say the least. ;). Anyway. I feel they are equal. Same formula for sound, although I like the addition of the Mandolin on the last track of the mantle. ;)

And let's not forget that drone track at the end of Ashes Against the Grain... I didn't expect that the first time I was listening.

Ok. Hope this link works for you. This is a shinning influence for that track.
It's Veletrmx by Autechre. Check this out.

How good is this, Dave?! So forgotten and unappreciated! Lots of styles and sounds worked in! I've got the vinyl of this one, and I'd love a CD reissue so I can preserve my LP carefully!

Sorry Mike - I've been so submersed in reviewing lately, that I forget where I postEmbarrassed
I loooooooooove the PT period within the psychedelic years, where things went from substantial psych melodies into this porous, esoteric free-spirited vibe, which luckily gave birth to albums such as Metanoia and this little baby.

Indian Summer- self titled. I actually rated it with 3 stars but I think it deserves one more. I have to update my review.
