both are the most influentual progressive metal acts along with Dream Theatre, Queensryche and Fates Warning who have influenced tons of different prog metal bands, but Voivod and King's X regin supureme in the way of influence, and is regarded as two of the prototypes of prog metal,

Both great bands, and it's a tough call.

Was literally just listening to Voivod's 'The Unknown Knows' prior to logging on and reading this!

But.....I'd have to say that King's X just edge it for me, as 'Out Of The Silent Planet'' still ranks as one of my top 10 albums of all time Smile

I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Never really got into King's X.  Gotta go with the Vods.

Nothing against King's X, but Voivod it is.
