We are very proud to announce that Osada Vida have just re-new their recording contract with Metal Mind Productions. Their next, yet untitled studio album is planned to be released in Spring 2013.
Łukasz Lisiak, bass guitarist comments: „We've just started recording the album. The drum parts will be recorded first and, for us, it’s the most important element of the new album. We want to have a lot of space in the drum parts and we want them to be dynamic. Later in December we will record the bass guitar and the keys. That’s all for this year. Guitars and vocals will be handled in January and, hopefully, our new material will reflect the recent changes in the band well.”

Osada Vida is one of the most interesting Polish bands on the prog-rock scene. Their discography includes three demos and three well received official releases - “Three Seats Behind a Triangle” (2006/2007), “The Body Parts Party” (2008), “Uninvited Dreams” (2009). Their albums feature elaborately beautiful music in the vein of Yes, Porcupine Tree, Pain Of Salvation and Riverside. In early July, Osada Vida released their first live DVD entitled “Where The Devils Live” featuring the recording of their live appearance at the Wyspianski Theater in Katowice, Poland in Autumn 2011. The band recently debuted in a new improved line-up - they have added a new vocalist Marek Majewski, previously known from the band Acute Mind. Osada Vida is also recognized worldwide - they played at the famous US' ROSfest 2011 and at the beginning of October 2012 they were a part of Israeli ProgStage festival where they perform next to Andromeda, The Flower Kings or Orphaned Land.

More details to be announced soon!

As recently announced, Osada Vida, one of the most interesting Polish bands on the prog-metal scene, return with a brand new album. “Particles” will be their first release after the line-up change in 2012, when Marek Majewski joined the band as their new  vocalist.

Front cover illustration of “Particles” was done by the band’s keyboardist Rafał Paluszek. “It took us a long time before we figured out how to approach the subject of the front cover. We decided to make it minimalist and simple. Frankly, we had enough of excessively elaborate, gloomy imagery which you can see everywhere. Who said rock music goes only with gloomy artwork? As usual, we decided to go against the dominating trend. And I think it's for the best because there's a lot of light and space in those graphics, and there's also a couple of symbols whose meaning we leave for our listeners to interpret. We really wanted to show all the changes we've gone through. We've become a quintet and our music keeps evolving. A lot has changed since the release of ‘Uninvited Dreams’ in 2009. Osada's somewhere else now, though the most important things and values remain, fortunately. I hope you'll hear all the things I'm talking about when you listen to our album.” – says Rafał.

“Particles” will be released by Metal Mind Productions on March, 25th in Europe and April, 9th in USA (via MVD). Full details to be announced soon.

As previously announced, Osada Vida, one of the most interesting Polish bands on the prog-metal scene, return with a brand new album. “Particles” will be their first release after the line-up change in 2012, when Marek Majewski joined the band as their new vocalist. New album includes 9 new tracks plus a brilliant cover of Metallica's track "Master of Puppets".

Rafał Paluszek, the band’s keyboardist talks about the new material: "What's the album going to be like? It's going to differ in all respects from everything we've done before, starting with the cover (and all the artwork), which was meant to depart form the hackneyed gloomy aesthetics, adding more light, space, and buoyancy; through the songs themselves, which are much more accessible (but also more powerful and to-the-point); to the vocal parts of our new, fifth Osada member. The album is a result of what's been long ripening in our heads and hearts. It's permeated with our joy of playing music and it shows a different approach to music and composing.

I think this album might be a surprise to our fans but I'm convinced that it's going to be a surprise of the good sort. We gave a new meaning to the word "uncompromising". It's going to be melodious, rhythmical, powerful, and surprising. But it's still going to be Osada Vida. We've taken nothing away from the character of our music. We've just spiced it up quite a bit and we hope you'll find the spices to your liking. So, what it's going to be like? Find out soon!"

ProgArchives.com about “Particles”:
“The album sees a natural evolution in the band's approach, rather than wholesale changes. The cover art offers an immediate indication of this, being lighter and simpler than previous albums. The concept album approach is set aside in favour of presenting nine strong, individual pieces each intended to stand alone as a complete piece.
Overall, an album that represents quite a shift for Osada Vida. While excellent musicianship and fine production may be taken as read, the generally more accessible nature of the songs should appeal to a wider fan base while continuing to satisfy those who have followed the band thus far.”

Osada Vida’s most recent album gets great reviews around the world. “Particles” is their first release after the line-up change in 2012, when Marek Majewski (ex-Acute Mind) joined the band as their new vocalist. New album includes 9 new tracks plus a brilliant cover of Metallica's track "Master of Puppets". One of the tracks include a guest vocal appearance by Sivy known from the Polish metal band Tuff Enuff.

The journalist of Progressor.net comments the album:
“It's been intriguing to follow the career of this Polish band over the last few years, and how they now appear to truly establish themselves as an entity in their own right as well, up to and including being signed for the US festival ROSfest in 2011. Two years have gone by since that event, and four years since their last studio effort, and interest is believed to be high for this Polish band that often has been described as a band comparable to fellow Poles Riverside. What "Particles" the album reveals is a band that has managed to combine accessible features and compositions with playful performances and a fair share of intricate and quirky details to boot, a CD likely to make good headway into a more mainstream-oriented market segment without loosing track of the ideals of the progressive rock universe if you like.”

You can read the review in THIS location.

Another great review is from Ytsejam.com:
“It’s blasphemy in the prog world to criticize a musician or a band for being too technical; but what good are your chops if you can’t capture the heart/ear of someone outside of the progressive rock genre; not to mention that if you are a recoding engineer and producer by necessity, you shouldn’t even be behind the board. As many bands attempt to plant their flag in the world of melodic progressive rock, so few have been able to favor a much more hook laden enterprise to put all of that arrogance aside for a moment. A four piece band from Poland, Osada Vida have set out to create something unique, something of a solid collective of songs that gives this quartet’s musicianship breathing room.
(…)
Overall it’s a tight record, a real ‘band vibe’ going on without sounding like it was tracked in several bedrooms, where the internet would have become an additional member. In the end, Osada Vida are one of the few prog bands that can break all the musical rules without everyone having to obsess about it.”

Full review is HERE.

You can still listen to the first two tracks promoting the album. “Those Days” is available on Metal Mind Productions’ channel on YouTube in THIS location, while “Mighty World” on Metal Mind Productions’ profile on Soundcloud HERE.
