Bruins up 3 games to none after 2 OT victory. I really don't think anybody could have foreseen this happening.

The Wings played a hell of a series against the Hawks.I was actually rooting for them to win because I wanted to see the Pens play against them in the finals. Our two teams have a bit of a history,ya know?Wink

Interesting fun fact for those who didn't know...the four teams left were the last four teams to win Cups.

The Wings gave it their all and when it comes down to losing in overtime of a game 7, it is what it is.  One team has to lose, it is just sad when it is your team.  It is also sad that it had to happen after going up 3 games to 1.  Admittedly, the Wings far exceeded my expectations for them going into the playoffs so I can't really complain that they lost this series.  Hats off to the Blackhawks.  Next time the Wings meet them in the playoffs it will be in the finals.  I wonder how many years down the road that might be, if ever.

Meh... as an ex-defenseman a lot of what looks like interferance qua Interferance is just hard fought position, being in the right place at the right time, and anticipating. Sometimes that bleeds over into something that should be called but for the most part the refs call it the way it should be. If anything they probably need to be reigned in a bit to let the fast-paced style of game we saw last night develop more often. You call every nudge or bump a penalty like basketball and... well you get basketball not hockey.

I said that in order to razz and get a response from rushfan, more than anything.    I'm not unhappy the Wings are out of the playoffs, though, as I still remember back a few years ago when their entire style of hockey depended heavily on interference off of face-offs and as opponents tried to enter their zone. I assume it still does but, to be honest, haven't watched much of them during this year's run. I hate interference and wish it were called every single time it was seen.

Has been's? I don't think you've been paying attention son. Wings are, overall, a young team with some of the best vets in the league. We gave the Hawks almost half as many losses as they've had all year (and that was with our injured guns no less). We sucked it up at times and we have a very shallow defense but with time to heal and pick up some more talent.... All I'm saying is the East will be missing Winnipeg next season.

Yes, let them beat up themselves, while Crosby and Malkin can rest up  before beating up the Kings or the Hawks.
