Which box-set? What does it include? I still have to get some albums of theirs, and this might just as well be the right way, if it includes at least their best albums (I'm guessing they must be from the 70's).

It's the SBB Anthology 1974-2004? It seems a bit expensive... but given the amount of albums it includes I guess it's not really expensive at all. It seems one would get just about everything needed from the band and more. I might consider it, for getting 3 or 5 albums trying to get the best ones might cost just about the same. I just hope that when I'm ready to buy it it may still be available at about the same price. Also, I don't know where you got it, for I would try looking for it on Amazon, I guess I do so later today and see what I find.

I know just about nothing from SBB, but someone posted one or two songs from them on a thread I did about prog not in english a few years ago and that was perhaps the band I liked the best. At least among the ones I didn't know already. So I'm interested in getting some of it... it might be a long way to end up getting such a box-set, but I just might... though it might take me one or two years more. And yeah, I like the prog giants, really, Pink Floyd, Yes, Genesis, ELP, King Crimson, VDGG, Gentle Giant, Camel, Renaissance, some RPI, Dream Theater and some more Prog Metal, Marillion, Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson, I've been trying to get a few album not in english, like Anglagard, Triana, Cast, Elfońa. And I'm surely missing many other things.

Their name is S.B.B.
It stands for Silesian Blues Band, but that was a long time ago. Everybody, including themselves, call them SBB.....and yes if you're into classic prog, you definitely need to check em out

This is the only one I own courtesy of a friend who burned it for me a few years back.
I do like it but can't say I have a huge interest to explore more of their music.

Because they are 'classic' one should automatically buy more..?
I have listened to some of their other music online (and off courtesy of a friend) and  it has never clicked with me...but as I said I find that one decent.

Not exactly. They later changed the meaning of the acronym to Search, Break, Build (Szukaj, Burz, Buduj in Polish, so the acronym is the same in both languages). But, yes, they are commonly known as just SBB.

It's a decent album but tends to get me a little sleepy in some points. They do have other and better albums IMO, and you might be very rewarded, try Memento... From 1980 it's quite different than Pamiec or just go for the killer live show Karlstad, where the band is smoking'!!!

SBB is quite a unique band and have a wealth of material. The studio albums are nearly always very good and the live sets are equally impressive, especially those recorded in the 1970s.

Poland offers great progressive rock, but usually in the Neo or prog metal genre. SBB provide an Eclectic mix of experimental jazz fusion with symphonic prog. Perfect!!

Another interesting point is that the bonus tracks are very impressive. Not fillers or outtakes, but mainly from the rich archives. They become part of the album for the listener to enjoy.

"Memento" is a great epic IMO. This is the closest the band had ever gotten to being symphonic prog.
