Topic: Khan live footage??? Posted: December 24 2012 at 06:08 |
I have recently been getting VERY in to Khan's 1972 album Space Shanty and i'm now wondering whether anyone knows of any live footage/bootlegs available?
I've searched the net but to no avail.
It's mentioned on the wiki page that they played at a televised concert at the montreux festival (though i'm sceptical)...if anyone has further details?

Space Shanty is one of my most favorite albums.. but I too have still found no live footage or even audio. I highly recommend (If you haven't already) checking out the two bonus tracks on the latest re-master of the album. That's all I've heard from Khan, and probably ever will.

DO NOT mention KHAN around me !!! - I'd literally trek across jungles of rabid leeches, blood sucking tigers and whatever foe stands in my way for live footage of KHAN. Space Shanty is one of, if not, THE best album I've ever heard. Steve H tried to continue this 'Khan' legacy with his first solo album 'Fish Rising', but only hit the mark occasionally. Would really like to know what happened to Nick Greenwood after this amazing recording. Someof Stewart's best keyboarding ever. Love his fuzzed-out Hammond tones..............something about the frequency sets my mind on fire..............can't explain it..............Dave Sinclair, Robert Jan Stips and Mike Ratledge all come in 2nd best................more folks should put their organs through a fuzz-box............

If I'm not mistaken Nick Greenwood released a solo album after Khan.
Edit: Well Nick Greenwood's album "Cold Cuts" was released the same year as Space Shanty. Eric Peachy plays drums on both albums.

I do have this one as well. I'm sure this was recorded before Space Shanty, at least, it sounds like it. Great little album. Nick plays exquisite bass lines on SS.

I don't think the album has aged well. Hmm

Is it the 70's hard rock edge of some of the material that puts you off?

Possibly, to me it didn't have much Canterbury qualities that make me adore the Scene. I haven't listened to it in a while, my tastes have changed so i'll prolly end up liking it.
