I agree, I've heard The Emeny Inside (or is it Within?) and it wasn't all that good. I originally had good expectations because it's a self titled, and most self-titled non-debuts are some of the best by the band (e.g. The Beatles, Metallica) and the album artwork was quite mysterious which seemed sort of hopeful..

^^ hey guys. Yeah. I've seen all four studio clips and I think the 4th clip is the most exciting, especially seeing as how well Rudess and Petrucci work together.

I also enjoyed this clip.

Yes. They've been pretty good, I guess, but they haven't released too much info in them.

C'mon guys. Every band says their newest album is their best album ever. Do you think record sales wouldn't be affected if they said, "the new album is alright, it's not my favorite, and is no where as good as our best albums, but it's got a few good moments." ???

ADTOE is my favorite DT since Images and Words. I for one am glad Portnoy's out, he became annoying with his grunts, vocals, and especially with his concept song that came up on 6DOIT, where each song had moments from the previous ones in it...
Dream Theater were allowed to write as a band on ADTOE, and I really missed Myung's input.
With Mangini's input, I'm sure it will be awesome !

I thought A Dramatic Turn of Events was their best since Six Degrees, but that statement seems like BS.

Will never know till we hear it. :)

Let's all be patient and then make an opinion afterwards.

Little bit off topic here, but has anyone heard

JAMES LaBRIE's new single 'AGONY' off his new solo album

Here is the link. Not sure it'll work though. Dam i touch. :(

Anyway. I think this song is terrible. It's sounds stale and recycled.

An edit to the above statement ^ I just listened to Octavarium and was reminded that I think it is their 2nd best album behind Images and Words.

Yea, it's as silly as saying "I have 20000 posts, I am better in all ways!"
No, you only have 10300!

But I don't act like I'm better in all ways.

I just am. Wink

So am I, but at least I have the patience to wait until some info, besides the title, are released. No other band has this problem at PA.

I just found it funny that his name was DTfan or whatever. I'm pretty sure other bands (like BBT and Swilson) have had this problem haha.

I'm curious how Mike approaches writing the drums. I couldn't stand Portnoy's later material.
