It was a solid album, but it wasn't exactly groundbreaking.

so we are supposed to accept any DT album as good just because DT fans online voted it to be good?

ADTOE was a good album, but didn't bring us anything new at all.

No better example to show that people who have liked DT at any points in their career will never agree with one another.
When ToT, Systematic Chaos and ADToE are favorite albums for some it's clear that human brains are wired in many different ways (I concede on Scenes PT 2 which is also one of my favs if not the most, which makes it even more intriguing, how can we agree on one album as a favorite and differ so much on the others is a mystery).

No, but if so many people loved it, then clearly it's not obvious that it sucks. It might still suck. But it's not obvious to everybody.

Those aren't people though.

I've noticed Train of Thought being considered one of their best, mostly by the younger generation of fans. To me, I can understand, and that means the band succeeded in staying current with that album (even though it's almost 10 years old now). I wouldn't put it  in my DT top 5, but I enjoy it as well. Systematic Chaos though, I'm not sure. Black Clouds is better.

I saw ADTOE as a culmination of all their previous work, bringing everything together into one big masterpiece album.  We didn't get any new styles or musical directions, but a combination of the best of the previous.  The instrumental playing was tighter than ever, the compositions were better than ever, the ballads amazingly good.  Because ADTOE kind of wrapped up an era in the band's existence, in my opinion, I'm hoping that the next album will feature them taking a new direction.

Can i make it clear  that I didn't say it was obvious that the last DT album sucked. I said it was obvious from my statement that I thought it wasn't  much cop.

That's why I took a 3 month long break as well.

I look forward to the new record, I was pleasantly surprised by ADToE.

It was a solid album, but it wasn't exactly groundbreaking.

Of course it is all a matter of opinion, but does something have to be groundbreaking to be one of the best? I thought ADTOE was a beautiful and well crafted combination of several influences throughout their entire discography. Sure, it was good ol' DT progressive metal, but I just felt after Black Clouds and Silver Linings that is really knocked my socks off. It is a few of a handful of albums I can easily put on repeat.

BTW, Coheed and Cambria's Decension.... I CANNOT WAIT

No, I showed how you present an opinion as opinion rather than presenting it as fact.
