Hi All

We are delighted to announce the first three bands for this year's festival to be held on October 4th to 6th at Lydney Town Hall, Gloucestershire

We welcome Germany's SYLVAN back to the festival after their appearance in 2010. The band released their first album in 3 years last year, the superb "Sceneries", and the band remain firm favourites with audiences throughout Europe with their brand of powerful, emotional prog.

www.sylvan.de

Another returning band are JUMP who played our first ever Friday Night at the Little Civic in Wolverhampton back in 2007! Their latest album The Beachcomber was released in 2010 and their brand of proggy rock continues to delight fans up and down the country. We can confirm that charismatic vocalist John Dexter Jones remains in very fine form indeed!

Finally, the mighty DEEXPUS from the North East make their first appearance at the festival after a meteoric rise which has seen them release two superb albums, the second of which features Mark Kelly of Marillion on keyboards and play a famously brilliant set at Rosfest in the USA.  Led by writer / guitarist / vocalist Andy Ditchfield their live performances have become legendary so their appearance is not to be missed.

Hi All

We are delighted to announce the next set of bands for this year's festival to be held on October 4th to 6th at Lydney Town Hall, Gloucestershire. Sponsor and Hero tickets are available from www.summersend.co.uk

We are pleased to announce our Sunday evening line up which features a headline appearance from Dutch legends FOCUS. The current version of the band features two members from their classic 70s line up, organist / flautist Thijs Van Leer and drummer Pierre Van der Linden alongside long-term bassist Bobby Jacobs and inspirational guitarist Menno Gootjes. The band released new album Focus X at the end of 2012 to great acclaim.

FRAGILE FEATURING CLAIRE HAMILL will be taking the "special guest" slot on Sunday evening but will be closing the festival. This new version of one of the world's best-known Yes tributes (having played with both Steve Howe and Alan White) features keyboard player Max Hunt and of course the lead vocal skills of the legendary Claire Hamill, who played the festival back in 2007 as a solo artist. Expect a set of brilliantly-played Yes classics from a crack 5 piece band - and some solo Hamill material thrown in - to give the last set of the festival a prog-party feel!

Finally for this update we announce that SEAN FILKINS AND BAND will open the Sunday of the festival. Sean is currently working on new material following the huge success of his synphonic prog debut "War and Peace and other Stories" in 2011.

Summers End Festival Announces "Ravens and Lullabies" with Gordon Giltrap and Oliver Wakeman

The Summers End Festival, which takes place on October 4-6th at Lydney Town Hall, are thrilled to announce a very special event on the Saturday Evening of the Festival.
www.summersend.co.uk

"Ravens and Lullabies" will be an unique electric performance by Gordon Giltrap (electric and acoustic guitars) and Oliver Wakeman (keyboards). Joining them in this exclusive one-off event will be two old friends of the festival, Paul Manzi (Arena, Oliver Wakeman Band - vocals) and Johanne James (Threshold - drums) plus a bassist to be named.

Gordon will be best known to Prog fans for his trio of rock albums in the late 70s, and for his hit single "Heartsong" while Oliver's eclectic career has involved several solo albums, two albums with Clive Nolan, tours with The Strawbs and Bob Catley and an eventful three and a half years in Yes.

Although the two of them have been touring extensively as a duo, this will be Gordon's first full electric performance for over 30 years, while Oliver will be playing his first major concert with a full band since his departure from Yes in 2011. The set will revolve around a performance of their superb album "Ravens and Lullabies" released earlier this year on Esoteric Antenna, which mixes intimate acoustic performances with full-blown Prog, but will also contain some pieces from both men's back catalogue.

Festival co-promoter Stephen Lambe says:
"This is a huge coup for the festival and it's thrilling that we have been able to persuade Gordon and Oliver to bring the "Ravens and Lullabies" band together and play this amazing and unique concert just for us. Little did I know when I saw the Gordon Giltrap band in 1979, or indeed Oliver with Yes in 2009, that I'd end up welcoming them onto the Summers End Stage in 2013."

I thought Focus were going to be on ahead of Fragile despite being "headliners".

Glad to see Lazuli back, loved their set 2 years ago.
