.Hie

this is a band from the west coast of Norway, who im gonna see live today actualy Tongue.

while listening on them now on Spotify, and after reading what bands they are influenced by they strike me as a band that could fit into the folds of Crossover. the big risk though its that they have a strong element of alternative in them though they also share elements from Shoegaze and experimental rock, they also have elements from post rock and also slight symph elements and art rock elements. Instrumentation is solid, and the weaving of themes into songs is very good, incorporate some elements of prog, as weird time sigs, usage of new technology and compositional fresh ideas in songconstruction.

they also have a good operatic singer with a strong clear voice compared to what is usual in this types of music

bands they are inspired of is: Mew - Coldplay - Dave Matthews Band - Tool - Led Zeppelin - Jeff Buckley - Soundgarden - ISIS - Filter - Porcupine Tree - MuteMath

sounds bit like Kings X, Radiohead and Mew

not the most progressive act but its worth a listen and probably an evaluation if not only some more fans.

Well, I reckon they deserve an evaluation just for being so generous and all-inclusive with sources of samples! As Agi says - not the most progressive act, but it's definitely worth a listen, and you never know, they might just scrape into Crossover. It's certainly very pleasant and melodic to listen to, and there's a fair amount of variation in their music - it's not all just plain straightforward alternative rock by any means...but is it prog?
Anyway, enjoy the concert Agi!! Thumbs Up

I await further comment before taking this act to the team... Embarrassed

Nicely elaborated alt-rock, I really dig it but I'm just not sure about its prog quota. Gonna check out some more of the samples now. But yes, David, a pleasure to listen to these guys.

Thanks for the suggestion, Agi, and enjoy yourself tonight! Tongue

this band seriously needs a keybrodist at conserts Unhappy, other then that more live apperences and more dynamical apperance and  they are sold. to the music world.

Devodid was the better live act (whon is on PA under Experimental metal )

The band's melodic and intricate alt rock brings to mind the serene power of Nordic greats like Pain of Salvation... Chunky, overdubbed guitar riffs lay a rock-solid foundation for the voicescapes of lead singer Bjarte Øvregård, guiding the band effortlessly off the beaten path, navigating safely through a treacherous sea of ever-changing keys and time signatures.

I'm still not sure about this band but the above quote at least shows that they embrace prog. The ''Cacophonic'' EP certainly supports some of Agi's arguments for inclusion with its lush and melodic feel, the broad epic scope of vernacular Nordic atmospheres, and post rockin' proposals of flaring guitars and airy keyboards/electronics. Worth checking out by the Crossover chaps.

And so we shall...Thumbs Up http://progfreak.com/Chasm-155153.html?path=pa/recent. Unfortunately my attempt at entering '9.29.2010'  (Sepember 29th 2010) as the release date for the Cacophonic EP has been interpreted by progfreak as 9th May 2012 Confused, and it won't let me go back and sort it out...so if anyone with the appropriate progfreak privileges can log in and change the date for me, it would be very much appreciated.
