the fathers of funk metal, and experimental metal , two bands even you might think it is false it is true they is the fatehrrs of what w regard as free spirited metal/rock, they gave other musicians mojo to build on and to expand on. Edited by aginor - January 10 2013 at 18:28 |

I'll go with the former. While not a huge fan Primus never tickled my asparagus if you know what I mean.

Primus got boring a long time ago for me, with "Pork Soda." But the Chili Peppers became almost instantly abhorrent to me with BSSM. Ever since that album they've been putting out the same album and songs and have bought into their own hype. Lazy and uninspired. Nothing they've done since "Mother's Milk" has any heart IMHO.
Also, Anthony Kiedas saying Mike Patton stole his style is laughable. Kiedas sucks.

There is funk in both bands. The last Primus is much more funk than the last red Hot.
Red Hot were good in the eighties, very lame after. Primus have always been good. Therefore, the winner is Primus. |
