My nod to Jack Johnson was just even up the voting at (currently) five each...guess you'll have to listen to each of them!
My advice: start with In a Silent Way and move forward in chronological order. it's the easiest way to make sense of Davis' more radical later stuff (On the Corner)

Get Up With It has the most variety, this album influenced Brian Eno, especially "He Loved Him Madly" "Calypso Frelimo" is a slab of jazz funk.
"Rated X" is a forerunner to drum and bass. even some straight ahead blues rock, and smooth jazz styles are on this. |
