Six excellent albums as voted by you guys. I'm leaning towards The Mars Volta just because of how innovative and adventerous it is compared to the rest on the list. Yes that's my pick.

Volta without hesitation. I hope Deadwing doesn't take it.

Wow, no votes for Neal Morse!? That has to be one of his best albums.. Can't let that go without a vote!

Riverside easily, though PT and Sigur Ros deserve an honorable mention.

Between Frances and Takk... for me. Having a hard time deciding which, so I'll have a think and come back with my final answer.

Sigur Ros, normally, but I can't deny Frances in this case - too good. Takk's great, love it to death, but I feel Frances is the more accomplished work, in comparison to all of these really.

I still haven't heard SLS, and I loved Frances, so TMV here.

May I ask as to why Octavarium wasn't on this list?
I consider drone metal to be progressive...

It wasn't one of my favourites from 2005. It didn't make the original 20 that i had on my list.

I'm glad to see Sieges Even at least made it through here. Definitely my favorite album here. Riverside is my second.
